protect your business from those who copy
Post 1 of 21

Today I opened up a new product alert from ALibaba and was surprised to see a picture of my product linked to another company named TATA Internet LTD.  I went onto their Alibaba profile and saw that they had not only taken pictures from my website, but all of the item writeups as well.   I than went onto their company website and saw the full lineup of my products listed with watermarks on the picures they had copied from my website calling them thir own.  My pictures are copyrighted, but I had not watermarked them through the middle. .just on the bottom..so I was an easy target.

So advice for any other US company with products you have created, don't be as foolish as I was. . watermark all of the pictures on your website.  As far as the product writeups go, I don't think there is a way to stop them from stealing those.

It goes to show that pirates are not just in Somolia, or the Gulf of Eden, even in Alibaba.

During these times, more of such piracy can be seen, and it will get worse before it begins to be better, if someone does something about it.

You can put digital signatures on your pictures or watermarks and there are ways to steal them, simply using some authoring tools to remove them.

This is very common. As you told your picture/photographs are copyright. You can put a case file against that company for INFRINGMENT of your products.I m sure if you contact any solicitor who deals with intellectual property they can help you out and beleive me it is very easy to pull out those company who steals your idea/information.

Wish you all the best.

You can  digitally sign the photos files. You can keep  your original and signed files
in your computer.Digital signs are accepted by court. The date sign is valid at court. So when you see the photos at internet you may sue the copier easily. The date at your files is sufficent. I use http://www.tasdix.com/ program at Turkey. It is a digital signature. Usually writers , photographers use it.You buy contour for each photo. Its  price is cheap.
