I have a contact who is looking to buy 100,000,000 barrels of oil per month for 12 months. I have found a couple of suppliers on this website. What is the best way for me to profit from arranging this deal? Should I act as a middle man or just charge a finders fee for finding the supplier? Urgent response is appreciated :)

You have to ask yourself, would a person who is looking to buy this qty come to you via a trade website. It has all the ingredients of a scam. Do not give out any details of yourself or your bank.

i have some clients who want to buy bclo, and we are now discussing with the seller's ,bank and so on.talks are on going, cos it is important that the safety of the client is protected .in order to achieve that an negotiating for the transaction be concluded money wise through an overseas bank .

For me it all depends on the contact as well as the buyer, you have some buyers who are just not serious, they waste your time, you also have some buyers who want only their protection forgeting that ,in order for the seller to sell,(he would charter a vessel or pay for it,the cost which will be around more than 100 000 000 naira, pay for the oil and then he would then have to get a ship captain who would have to ferry the vessel to international waters for TTO/TTT ALL THESE IS COSTING MONEY,AND IF THE BUYER DOES NOT SHOW,HE IS LEFT A SITTING DOCK OF OIL,VESSEL .SO EERYTHING IS A TWO WAY STREAK.

THAT IS WHY I SAY IF YOUR BUYER IS SERIOUS ,THeN YOU HAVE TO FIND A SERIOUS CONTACT VIA SELLER WHO IS SERIOUS AS WELL[em19]

Dear Maximusprime,

How are you!

You will sell the oil when you receive the goods. You are not the   ultimate user.

You act as an agent

First of all, you must confirm you buyer's need. That is a very large qty! A bit unbelivevable!

And you should make sure whether you supplier can really offer you that qty. And you must

know their quality.

You should get the trust from each side and make sure everying. Preparation counts!

Best Wishes!

I assure you will not make money on your buyer and seller . Don't waste your time on them.

They are nuts.

Dear Maximusprime,

This is an unbelievable deal. And trust me, 99.999999999% (unless you are an incredibly lucky person) this deal doesn't even look real.

I am in the offshore business too and what I know is that buyers with this kind of requirement (100 million barrels!) have their own systems in place for executing these orders. Alibaba.com is hardly the place one would go to for buying super bulk quantities of oil.

What might happen is that you end up wasting your time and energy in finding the right supplier, convincing them, etc. etc. and in the end the buyer may back out. Because he would already have activated his connections through other channels.

Hope you understand that I am not trying to discourage you. Because it is always crucial to think (and dream ;) ) big. If you don't do that, you can't move forward. But at the same time, it is vital to separate realities from probabilities.

If you are still interested in this deal, what I would suggest is to start looking at the Oil and Gas websites/journals,etc. In these places, you would find classified advertisements of suppliers. Talk to them. In the end, they would probably give you a finder's fee as (for such large orders) suppliers prefer to talk directly with the buyers. However, a finder's fee of even 0.5% would still be one massive amount to take home and celebrate with! Be careful, not to get cut out during the negotiations without appearing to be pushy or hanging on.

Hope this is not too much of advice and is taken in the right sense.

All the best! If possible, do keep me posted. :)

Regards,

Jogi
