Hi guys.  These days I have been searching serious sellers over the net. Sadly, there are half of them ask me to use Western Union. (Yes, scammers) There are other 50% only accept using T/T payment. I am just curious why sellers do not accept  L/C or escrow? Are they all scammers? Is it really secure to use T/T payment to pay  some one oversea?

Thank  you very much. =) Wish this post can help other buyers too. =)

I supplied my T/T information to someone from alibaba.com. They were from spain and assured me that everything was safe and that if I found anything suspicious I can report them to the FBI.  The problem is that they have not made the transfer of said funds yet.

So I withdrew all the funds from this one account and opened another. to insure they do not try and take my money. I left one dollar just in case the bank decided to close my account.

I'm not so sure this is a safe way of doing business. I'm begining to worry.

To all who have responded,

I have read this entire thread and would like to comment.

First, I have purchased samples from companies using Western Union - to the satisfaction of both sides.

I am NOT a large importer.  I am, in fact, new to this type of business.

I am looking for innovative products that are new to the private investigations market in the USA.  The nature of the market is such that I expext small orders will be the norm.  There is a business model called JIT (Just In Time) ordering that is used here.  Many US businesses use this, now.  They order enough for the next few weeks, and then reorder.

That makes me sound like the scammers.  Such is NOT the case.  In fact, I do computer investigations and catch those types.

I have read some very good ideas for validating buyers (and sellers) here.  I would like to hear more.

1. How do you decide you trust someone enough to buy their product?

2. Likewise, how do you evaluate someone trying to buy your product?

3. Would you be more likely to deal with someone if you could meet them face-to-face?

I am trying do decide what services I could provide that would be most valuable to offer.  From your discussions, it sounds as though validating buyers and sellers might be a valuable service.

What are your thoughts?

Alibaba needs to be held accountable for not taking action against the criminals that use their website. They close their eyes to the fact that their website is used mostly for criminal activity and they do not implement enough security measures to prevent this from happening. Alibaba.com is nothing but a playground for people participating in criminal activity. Alibaba says they are considered only a Business 2 Business website and are not responsible for anything that happens on it. It is absurd that a company who's core business is matching businesses with other businesses is not responsible for anything that takes place on its website. Alibaba.com turns its back on the very people who use its services and deserves to be run into the ground by lawsuits because a case can be proven against Alibaba. They are accountable for the countless numbers of fraud cases taking place everyday on its own platform.

I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN A VICTIM OF FRAUDULANT ACTIVITY ON THIS SITE SHOULD BRING A LAWSUIT AGAINST ALIBABA.COM AND WIN. IF EVERYONE DOES THIS, THE NUMBER OF LAWSUITS WOULD BE SO LARGE AND THE DOLLAR AMOUNT SO OVERWHELMING THAT ALIBABA.COM WOULD BE FORCED INTO BANKRUPTCY AND THE COMPANY WOULD BE RUN INTO THE GROUND WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IT DESERVES.

DONT JUST CRY ABOUT IT......DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!
