Who should arrange shipping? Buyer or Supplier
Post 1 of 4
As a buyer I ALWAYS arrange shipping! Especially container shipments.

Suppliers can manipulate the loads very easily and screw buyers up too much if they control the freight aspect! I suggest all buyers aggange their own shipping.

It all depends on your business terms with the seller and your shipment arrangements.

Sometime, it is even cheaper and easy for the seller to send you the shipment as he can control the expenses by negotiating various services in country of dispatch.

If you can do a good analysis of the shipment expenses and negotiate with sellers accordingly, it is advised to use the services of seller for shipment to avoid delays in shipment and discrepancies in the documents.

Even when you arrange shipping, if the seller meant to cheap, he can, because the carrier does not inspect the consignment, how could he know the items packed inside the box are really what you ordered?

3D,

The carrier is never responsible for what's in the boxes. The buyer should arrange this before the goods get to the ship/plane.
