Post 1 of 7
Hi ,
Which third party inspection could one use to inspect the goods at the port before the shipment and would this be a trustable procedure ? Or are there also tricks as falsified papers etc.?

I have used SGS only as a thrid party company to inspect product I have bought or my buyers have used at our suggestion.

The problem you may encounter is having an inspection done on product at the suppliers location but when the shipper actually sends the item they could easily replace it with other low value goods after your inspection.

To avoid this have your inspector on hand at the time the shipment is picked up from the freight company!. That means you should have the inspector on hand initially to verify the stock so they can take photos and /or videos of the items and document the load. After you receive the verification info from the inspector then you can arrange payment.

Once the time has gone by and your payment has gone through (ie TT method or D/P for example) paid then have your inspectors on hand again when the shipment is picked up by the freight company. This is the only way I buy product with 3rd party inspectors. Suppliers can easily switch products after the inspection so be sure to have them on hand at the time of pick up.

Replying to [Batman_35]: Contact your local sgs or other third party inspector and ask them about location of inspection. Its obvious the stock cannot be loaded in the container as it has to be in a warehouse for inspection
