How can i be sure in a business relationship?

I need to sell in my country various product that i can buy from china factory.
But i need to be sure in a continuos and serious relationship in the time.
How can i conclude a good agreement in a internationals market?
There is some pattern preserving me and my business?

More communication with your supplier, to evaluate whether he is serious and responsible.

We have a customer from Italy and we met in HK show before.
After several sample sent,they asked their colleague in HK office to contact us about the first order.
I think you can meet them in the fair or show to check their products and others.Also can give them a trial order and visit the factory.

If you look for long term business relation, even if it is a little bit costy, the best way to be sure is to visit your supplier in China.So you can have a good idea and judgement about them.
