I ordered brand name boots from a manufacturer in China to sell on ebay. The boots were perfect and I sold 3 pairs before ebay took down my other listings b/c of a complaint from the brands holding company.

The quality of the boots was great, they did not look cheap or conterfit and the factory claimed to be OEM.

My questions are:

Why won't ebay allow these listings?

Is it illegal to sell these items?

I have seen the term "supply chain" used alot in these forums to suggest that when you buy brands names outside the suppply chain they will be no good. These products were great but are they still illegal.

How do I purchase products inside the supply chain? Brand name products are difficult to find.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

eBay has a program named VERO which allows brand owner to report illegal listing. If you are not an authorized seller of a brand, they have a right to report you and take your listings down.

> Is it illegal to sell these items?

Yes it is illegal. Because those brand owners typically sign contracts with authorized sellers NOT to sell on online marketplaces like eBay.

"authorized distribution channel" is the official term in most contracts, which means exactly to your term "supply chain".

> How do I purchase products inside the supply chain?

It is impossible for any small potato companies /person to enter a sales agreement with world-class brand owners.

We know because we were in your position years ago. We searched up and down the world and then learned that lesson. Then we turned to smaller brands and are selling happily hereafter.

Why is this allowed in the forum?

Reading the Dos and Don'ts of Alibaba forum, we are not allowed to post any advertisement, trade lead, email address or any of our own personal interest.

Is there a standard applied only for the others who are members of the postings and another standard for the moderators?

ALIBABA ADMIN, PLEASE GIVE US YOUR ANSWER.
