how do you go about importing fruits and vegs, dnt they rot on the way?

how is the profit, is it big or small?

are buyers willing to import fruits and veg, which are allready being grown in there country?

is there any goverment restriction on imports of fruits and veg to UK?

Replying to [YoYo]:HIYOYO,

A VERY GOOD QUESTION. FIRST OF ALL YOU HAVE TO DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO IMPORT FRUITSAS A WHOLESALER OR RETAILER. FRUITS IMPORT IS A A VERY INTERESTING BUSINESS BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK VERY HARD THE FRUITS ARE PACKED IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF PACKING LIKE MANGOES IN CORRUGATED CARTONS, GRAPES IN THERMOLCOLE BOXES, BUT NOWQ THE TREND HAVE CHANGED AND THEY ARE PACKED IN PLASTIC TRAYS,,

YOYO PROFIT AND LOSS BOTH YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED IF YOU FOLLOW THE PROPER SYSTEM AND SALES PITCH THAN YOU CAN CUT DOWN YOUR LOSSES. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS TRADE FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS AND I ENJOY THIS TRADE.

BUYERS IMPORT FRUITS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD, THERE IS NO RESTRICTION IN UK FOR IMPORT AND SALE OF FRUITSAND VEGETABLES IN UK EXCEPT THERE IS ONE FRUIT CALLED DURIAN FROM FAR EAST THIS FRUIT IS BANNED FOR EXPORT BECAUSE OF ITS PUNGENT SMELL.

THIS IS THE IN FORMATION I HAVE FOR YOU.

BEST OF LUCK.

Hey Yoyo,

In case you're still looking for answers I think  you should go through the UK Food Standards Agency. There so many Import and Export restrictions you should know about such as the burn of:

Avian (bird) flu and imports

Calabash chalk

Jelly sweets

Kava kava

Products of animal origin from China

Red 2G food colouring

Spices and palm oils

Stevioside

Foodstuffs with current EU restrictions

Importing guar gum and food containing guar gum from India

Sunflower oil from Ukraine

Also as they If you are planning to import fresh fruit or vegetables you should apply for a 'Certificate of Conformity' under the PEACH system, which is run by the Horticultural Marketing Inspectorate at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The PEACH system can be accessed on the DEFRA website.

Our company had deal in exporting the frozen food and seafoods to China for many years.

If you  came to the Chinese supermarket, you'll find many  thing from the foreign countries, especially fruit, but the price is high with good quality.Otherwise different contries, different seasons, fruits. But seldom see the outside fresh vegetables, just had some frozen vegetable such as french fries, green pea etc. As we knew estimated only frozen green pea consumption volume per year is at leaast 100,000 M/T. But main importers are the world famous companies. They control the sources and market, many had set the sub-company  in China.

As importing rule, only the designed sea ports allowed to enter the fruit, they are severe health inspection . The profit is good.
