If you are a beginner eBay trader or similar, you may also find this link helpful.

As mentioned in many places on the forum, over 90% of all brand name consumer electronics suppliers, on Alibaba and other B2B sites, are simple scams. Especially with the newest gadgets, every single thief out there will claim to have them. If you find a supplier offering prices on such items that are all 80% of retail, or less, you can safely assume it is just another scam. The margins are not this high unless you are buying very large amounts. Sometimes it can also be refurbished or even counterfeit.

Also, please do not post asking for suppliers of any item, this is considered a trade lead and is not allowed on the forums.

I agree, purchasing low cost MP3/MP4 players and cheap cameras here is relatively common. Buying a Brand Name item and actually receiving it is pretty unheard of. If someone sells you a PS3 for the price of a Playstation 2 in your hometown, it is more than likely a scam.

It is very useful information. I have been scamed twice. One company called Shenzhen H.Y.E.C. Digital & Technology Co., Ltd. I bought 100 ipods from them in very cheap price and i'm still waiting my order. Its been 7 months now.

Other company called Putian Licheng District Meifeng Package Factory . I bought 8GB mp3/mp4 and they did send me mp3 playes but flash memories were hacked. The actual memry was 498MB. So please be aware of these companies.

Replying to [FraudWatchersDotOrg]:Thanks for this, I've been looking at purchasing some iPods, although only on a single test order. Is it fair to say, if I recieve the first, then I will recieve more?

Thanks

You can never be sure.
There have been alot of cases where even after the second or third order is placed, thus bigger, the company will not send items and get away with the money.
I am not generalizing so please be aware with who you are dealing with.
What you could do, if it is a good amount, face to face meeting is your best bet.

Cheers

Those scammers make the real suppliers become harder and harder to get business.

WORLDTRADE-KEY.COM = advertised on BabaAli but are SCAMMERS!

They also trade under the name of; FASHION TRADE CO.

They request payment via Western Union, then avoid communications after receiving the money.
