I don't think it is a good way to send payment to your supplier at the first cooperation.
Business also have risks, so when you decide to send payment to a strange supplier, try to get information of your supplier through any ways you can and judge whether they can trust or not.

Yes, western union or moneygram only catered for samplings I think. A pre-shipment QC inspection service from a third-party service company is a must when your order is large enough in China, esp after your payment to the suppliers. Take care!

WU or MG are not bank. They are all money transporters. They are not company credit information servicers. Think twice.

I personally think a real supplier will never request a buyer to send money through WU or money gram. On the other hand, this is the "signal" to tell a buyer "it's time to run" when someone ask for payment through WU.
If they are asking you for money to be sent via western union, they are fraudulent. Recently I was scammed by a company in out of $2800. I've since learned that all scammers on here ask you to send money to them via western union. It's no way to get a refund back from them and no way for them to be tracked. Don't buy if they ask for the money via western union, money transfer, or bank wire.
I found a new site where all of the wholesalers are verified and you can use your credit card to purchase from them. Using your credit card means your purchases is insured and if anything should happen, you can always contact your credit card company to get your funds back. Very good in this business.
