MEDITATE FOR THE PURIFICATION OF YOUR SOUL
Post 2 of 11
Replying to [morakabah]:A very busy person from Perth always turns up alert and fresh. His solution is 15 - 20 minutes daily meditation.
According to him, through deep meditation, one can even see his/her past life. Is it true?

Topic of MEDITATION is a vast subject, a difficult job to explain or to understand in short. A number of learned & realized souls / personalities have said and explained at length on this subject after their own "Realizations".
Here three basic points have been raised. Based on what little I could understand so far in this reagrd, I am trying to share my understandings as below:
Point no. 1:. MEDITATE FOR THE PURIFICATION OF YOUR SOUL
Meditation is the constant remembrance of Gods sacred name (mantra). Meditation helps in purification when one craves for GOD with Guilelessness and goodness, Open-mindedness and onlooking nature and Devotion and determination and recites His name with surrender.
Point no: 2: A very busy person from Perth always turns up alert and fresh. His solution is 15 - 20 minutes daily meditation.
Sitting in an erect posture for mediation for 10 - 20 minutes in front of His portrait helps all the twelve inner friends - ( 5 Panchendriyas eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin; 4 Karmendriya 2 upper limbs & 2 lower limbs; 3 Jnanendriyas mind, will and intellect) to get centered around the Chosen deity. The "Mind" recollects His name, the "Will" recollects His glory but "Intellect" enjoys His form to the brim. Meditation helps in synchronization of all the twelve inner friends which when get synchronized helps us feel fresh, rejuvenated and alert too.
Point no. 3: According to him, through deep meditation, one can even see his/her past life. Is it true?
Answer is Yes.
Mediation in simple words is a process of unification of our energy (in Hindi language, by energy we mean Pranshakti) with the energy of the Universe. This universe has infinite dimensions. The infinity extends in all the directions from where we are. Through deep mediation, a person is able to unite his souls energy with the infinite universe which has no boundaries of time and space. This way, for a person practicing mediation, distance and time becomes insignificant. Since his energy becomes a part of this infinity of this universe, he (the soul) can be anywhere anytime and he can be able to see to any extent past, present and future. Existence of a number of Seer, Rishis and all other great souls, in the past or in present, whether in East and West are the living examples of this fact.

1. "Didn't know that it acquire so much knowledge for something seems so simple."
You know, as I feel, it is in every field that whatever appears so simple apparently, has been the outcome of deep knowledge. Take for example, we all are talking/chatting/ writing to each other on the internet which seems so simple for all of us. But if you go into the deep to understand how it all works, you will find how much in-depth knowledge and day & night efforts are required to make this possible. In the same way, in our every walk of life, there are a number of examples. Meditation in the same way might be appearing simple but many a times it is difficult to do so to reach to achieve the level of realization.
2. "You must be practised it long enough to furnish me the in-depths of information."
The continuous quest of knowing things (in-depth) leads any person to the places on its own to find and gather better understandings and knowledge about the subject. Whether it is me, you or anyone else. However, my understanding is just a tip of the iceberg in the ocean of this vast knowledge. I am also just like you or anyone else, trying to learn as much as possible.

3. "How long do you have to practise in order to be able to see the p *, present and future?"
As I could understand, the process of acquiring knowledge on meditation for self-realization is an ongoing process through out the life and then life after life. This is not something which is time bound. There is no crash course in this field. It needs a lot of things to inculcate in oneself first and then proceed further in the path of "Realization" through deep meditation. One has to shun a lot of things which are supposed to be the obstructions in the path of realization. A common person normally becomes the victim of anger, lust, greed, egoism, egotism, jealousy, passion, pride, and suspicion - the basic 9 foes of life. These are just like the "dust" lying on human mind which obstructs the mind to function properly just like a dust does not allow any sensitive electronic equipment to perform its 100 percent. If our mind, which is the most sensitive part of us, is coated by the above mentioned "dusts", it will be difficult for a mind and soul to establish a direct connection with the main flow of universal energy. Let me put my point with a simple example that if the two terminals of a car battery which is the main source of supplying electric current in the car, gathers carbon on it (we can call it another kind of dust for automobiles), it will never allow the car to start as this accumulated carbon becomes the obstacle to pass the electric current through its terminals to the desired point i.e. ignition.
Now we can see that even the best of the best cars having all the components perfectly in order can not be started if the "electric current" generated from the battery does not get in touch with the ignition of the car due to the accumulation of the carbon on it. Same is with our body, mind and soul. Every person has all the desired inputs in him and the the potential of achieving the ultimate "realization" through deep meditation provided all the accumulated dusts, as mentioned above, is removed at the very outset. Though it looks simple but is not so simple. It takes a number of years, births to get rid of these "dusts". Lord Budha after achieving realization through deep meditation for years could see all his past lives. He revealed that it took him a number of births to improve & purified himself step by step in each of his births to reach to that stage finally. He was one of those who could see past, present and future.
All the realized souls (seers and Rishis) of today as well as yesteryears have been able to see present, past and future. This is a fact.
