Sample first, or order first?
Post 1 of 14

I have trouble in persuade factories to send me samples.

Hi, everyone, I am Beatrie from a trading company, we mainly specialize in ladies knitted underwear (brassieres, panties and so on) and swimwear. As a trading company, we sometimes have to ask factories to send us samples, so that we can send samples to our customers, for quantity and workmanship approval.

Our customers mainly from French, German, Australia, and HK. Sometimes, in order to give something new to our customers, we would search for new supplier who can provide newer styles and send us their price list with pictures. Then I would select some styles and want them to send samples so that I can feel the quality. I told them I would pay for the freight. But they refuse. They say there's no problem for them to make good quality products, and if I want to have samples, I have to place order first.

And I would say in my heart, how stupid they are, No Sample, No Order! No customer would place order to you before they feel  the quality of your produces!

It is right that you may not definitely able to get orders after you sent the samples, but you difinitely can not get order if you don't send samples.

Any commons are welcomed!

Of course, sample first, but buyers should also pay for samples and shipment fee,

Only secured payment only, i see sample i pay. Usually ch*n*se companies just take money and stop replying to your email. I send money to one ch*n*se company but they never send my sample. The most common excuse is " We haven't received payment" but I have all Bank details that funds is credited into their b*nk ac*ount .Most ch*n*se companies have no business ethnics. Examples are defective goods, inferior quality, wrong specification, wrong products, no goods sent scams, etc. There is NO HONEST CHINESE companies in CHINA. Gold supplier and Trustpass status are mostly SCAMMERs. Their mode of operation is they asked WU/T/T in advance. Once they got the money, they change their tune.

Well, you said"most of chinese companies have no business ethnics", I think it is not right, most chinese companies are earning benefit by work hard honestly. Only a very tiny part of chinese companies would do that like what you said. We all afraid of being cheated on business.

I don't totally agree with  you. I believe there are scamers in China, but that's only a very tiny part. and Scamers are everywhere not only in China.

We are decent company, and we need 50% T/T in advance to, for at least 2 reasons: (1) To keep the cash flow. We need money to buy  raw materials to make prodducts; (2) To keep our business safe, what if the customer cancel the orders, we at least won't loss too much. and 50% is far less enough for us to pay for the materials and salary for workers.

Business is risky, both buyers and sellers need to take care, foreigners always say that there are too many frauds in china, in China, we think that there are more scamers in the outside world.

In the garments business ALL buyers NEED to have a full set of  samples.

based on that they place the order. Then they open the L/C and after that you start production.

this is the ONLY way.
