Hello, All
I'm working in the Foreign Trading Dep. of our company. Usually, we contact with our customers by email. I have sent our many emails, but get very little reply. Who can teach me how to get more reply from my customers? Thank you in advance.

Hello Linda,
Thank you for your reply!
I'm working in China. Our factory majors in export, and our products have been exported to many foreign countries. We contact our customers by English.
You give me a clue. I should specifiy my target customers and learn the custom of different countries. Maybe i can get more reply by this way.
Best Wishes
Grace

Hi There
I noticed your question whilst browsing the forum.
I would just like to add one comment if I may,I am from the UK, we here in the Uk are lazy as far as learning foreign languages go. It is a trait which stretches back over the centuries and is common place in the UK.
I have tried many times to communicate with China manufacturers and despite their best efforts to speak English, sometimes it is very hard work to understand what they are saying. I am the typical Englishman who speaks no other language and fully respect the fact that most China people speak very good English and try their utmost to satisfy.
However, sometimes it gets embarrasing to keep saying "Sorry i dont understand" or "No that is not what I meant".
I do not understand why someone does not establish a service on here where a buyer can send a communication to someone who translates it to written Chinese and send it to the seller and vice versa.
That way, both seller and buyer would understand each other perfectly.
Just an observation and thankyou for listening. Bye

Hey,
Happy new year to all!
Your comments are rather appropriate.Yes we Chinese need to improve our general English level. For me I want to track you here,as your English is so typical, haha,so please talk more on this forum.
About your question why no wide translation service between the buyer and seller,I guess 2 reasons:
1.business secret
2.some terms and definations for the different industries are not easy to translate, and it shall be easier for ones in the same line to talking on technical details. We are doing EXPLOSION-PROOF APPARATUS,while I guess even a professional translater may be failed to tell what is FLAME PATH,which is an important point on the product.![]()
I am a young seller in ShangHai,and l am also lack of further skills to get feedback from the potential clients after sending out lots of emails.Even though I never use any mass-mailer,and I tried to learn about the customers before I sent the offers,so any teachers/guide here?TKS!
Just share some idea here, and would like to make friends with some common understanding on business or life.
