BRAND ELECTRONICS FROM ASIA - COULD IT BE FAKE?
Post 1 of 8
First off intro of my self, im a student here in the US tryin to make enough money to pay the bills with out flipping burgers.

I've been doing alot of research on electronics. Couple of things if was looking at was the Nintendo Wii gaming console, and some Pioneer GPS systems (Avic N2, N3, Z1 etc..) and even looked at some Viper Car alarms.

One thing i've noticed are the prices of these items on alibaba suppliers are EXTREMELY cheap, even cheaper than the employee discount i used to get when Good Guys was still in business ( 5% below cost)

When i asked the supplier, they all said their products are 100% Genuine and comes with manufactory warranty, along with their return policy.

My question is, are these electronics really genuine? would they have any problems getting through Customs?

some of the suppliers are even gold supplier and trustpass members, does that mean it is safe to pay them?

Hi, Dave,

To be honest, I can completely understand your worries, but the truth is that you needn't worry at all, because I ever worked in some electronics factories of China before. The reason why Chinese products are always so cheap is because that the prices of materials are much cheaper than those of USA markets, so you can't count the prices of chinese products according to USA level, and at the same time, the salary of workers is also much, much, much lower than USA workers, for example, the common salary for a worker is about RMB700, equaling USD95, per month. So I could tell you that most Chinese products are genuine and cheap, excepting some fraud and fake.

Dave, as my colleague Foow says above, DON'T.

They are all copies and you WILL have problems importing them. Customs will ask you for an authority from the Brand Owner giving you permission to bring them in.

Natuarally you can't supply that, so guess what? Customs will seize the goods.

Replying to [Dave Wang]:Dave, take one brand A for example. A is produced by many country. Like PS3. It is Japanies Version, USA Version and HK Version.

All the three have the different price and different in quality also, but the Brand is SONY.

So, it is the same in respect of China. Here you can get the same brand but cheap in price and quality also will not be same as other.

Replying to [Dave Wang]:for all branded staff the price is controlled by them, they will never sell it cheap even though the products is made in china, for example NOKIA or GUCCI HAND BAGS do you think the company will sell is cheap to the distributor? no way
so every branded items selling cheap are fake, either it is a low quality fake or high quality fake, depend which manufacture copy the branded items.
