Pros and Cons of dropshipping from CHINAVASION WHOLESALE LTD

Sorry, I posted this by mistake in "electrical"forum. I copy it here :

Pros and Cons of dropshipping from Chinavasion Wholesale Ltd
Hi all,

I source some items from Chinavasion for two months now.
THere are some advantages in their dropship system, as in any other dropshipping structure.
Their weak point is the speed of delivery: usually 8 days or more for shipping out products.
They closed the business from 15 till 26 of february for Chinese New Year, but all the orders I passed from february 08 are still "pending"and not shipped.
I called them, I faxed them, I emailed them many times.
All what I got is "ye Sir", and nothing else.....
I have still 30 orders placed before february 15 and not shipped!
My customers on auction websites are becoming angry against me, of course....
Another weak point is that they ship only using Fedex, UPS, DHL, and that means for sure customs duties, VAT and administrative fees for the final customer. They could avoid that using EMS, seldom controlled by customs.
Then, there is also the lack of controlled information about the products : they only copy the information from the manufacturer, even if there are some contradictions in it. And they supply few pictures of the products. Not easy to sell a product you can't show in details!
Finally, they do not care about the suggestions of customers. I sent several times emails suggesting some improvements in their system, and they acknowledged receiption in a polite way, but there wasn't any follow-up.

In conclusion, Chinavasion can be useful as a dropshipping supplier provided that you don't expect more than they want to give.
I am now looking for a more professional supplier in accordance with the western meaning of "professional"

My comments are not about the fact either they sell gadgets or not gadgets, cheap or not cheap, but about the weak way they manage their business.
Their products are similar to other chinese products : questionable qua quality, reasonably priced.

Replying to [getehem]: I understand what you said and I have no problem with that but, there are many people that read posts. I wanted to clarify for members exactly what kind of products they had.

you will know that not many supplier will drop ship items, and payments can be a problems too.
I am sure using another delivery service can be good but the cost would show on the end price, EMS prices to DHL will be lower.

Ebay sales would always be a problem for later delivery, but the main thing would be to work around the hols in China or the fairs that the supplier may attend, if the orders can be slowed down at any time you need to use this inofrmation when making a new auction sale, and work the dates, thats business [em2]

THat's what I did. I insert a notice in my advertisements ( it is not only on Ebay, by chance) so the customers knew that the orders placed between 15-26 feb will be handled right after this period.
But today 9th of March, I am still expecting Chinavasion to ship out orders from february 08!!!!!
I called them several times, I emailed them several dozens of times, I sent faxes....it's always "yes Sir, we will ship", but nothing happens for some orders. And the worst is that they ship orders for the same items that I passed by far later!
About payments, they get the money within seconds since each order I passed has been paid through Paypal. So this is not a matter to discuss.
They are not professional, that's it, and that's enough!

Hi - it's Rose here from Chinavasion. If you have specific queries about your orders, please email us at chinavasion.com/support and we will look into your order status query.

The Chinese new year inevitably creates a knock on effect of delayed orders because our warehouse has to deal with 2 weeks of orders and not just one day's worth, and the Chinese factories are in many cases very slow to get moving again too. We regret any customer delays and are doing our best to mitigate the effects of this national holiday that effectively lasts the whole month here in China.

Regarding the whole topic of dropshipping, it's actually pretty good to find a *wholesaler* that is also going to do small order dropshipping. Chinavasion has no minimum order restrictions and we actually have a service manually making blind invoices so that dropship consignees don't see "chinavasion" on their goods when they arrive.

We have hundreds of regular dropship business clients, mainly but not all selling on EBay, and the fact that they continue to order demonstrates the effectiveness and profitability of using Chinavasion.

They are nice people and you can trust them[em19]. A bit slow on sending out the orders and answering emails.
