the American university UTEP (university of Texas at El Paso) has developed a solar flash distillation system. They are hundreds of miles away from the gulf coast, yet they use sea water for their city. Can't remember the specifics, but it sure is an interesting system

Absolutely! Man has fought over shortages from the beginning. In the desert, tribes have fought over ownership of waterholes as a matter of course. When, not if, but when there are watershortages, even in well watered regions, what would you do for water for your family or tribe?
It is THE MOST important source for life there is.
