Will fighting on water start soon ?
Post 1 of 14

Land does'nt mean much withour water. That's why civilisations are located and improved always around water-rich areas.Water is a very precious element for all living creatures to survive. As for all the living creatures, water is very important also for the countries regarding its use in daily life, industry and agriculture.

Because of environmental pollution, devastation of ecvatorial rain forests and global warming, rapid raise in the world population, clean and usable water resources are needed more and more as clean and usable water reserves are getting lesser. So soon , water will be precious than oil. When thinking that countries are fighting for the oil now , you can't help you to think whether fighting on water will start soon .. Do you think it will start soon ?

I am afraid you may be right.  Before fighting over water people should seek to clean up the water that they have.

If Global warming and deforestation are not put to an end, soon people will not be able to find water even for cleaning it up.
People have to take into consideration the warning of desertification, from the scientist,as well, and think over it seriously before it is late..

I do also think that global warming and deforestation are critical issues.  These things are all inter related.  We can't put short term profit for a few above the health of the planet.

FAO,WWF( World Wildlife Foundation) and World Water Unity all publish reports on the nearing danger of water shortage taking several opportunities.

In one of recent reports by World Water Unity, they have mentioned that some 800 million people in Africa and Mexico will suffer of water shortage by 2015. Another presupposition is that water wars will start in the Middle East by 2040.

So each individual and country has to be very careful while using water.. Seems the danger is so near to all of us..

We need to waste less, clean up more , invest in desalinization and re-plant indigenes

plant life.

As far as I know, desalination of seawater is costing high and doesn't seem economical yet.Maybe they can find new ways to get it by cheaper ways in stead of wars on water.

Yes, completely agree with you. It is better to afford high costs, instead of paying lives for water..

Too often the real cost of something is not tallied particularly if the added costs are not borne by the ones profiting from the deal in the first place.
