What is the safest money transactions or payment methods available for buyers. I have burnt way too much my international suppliers, I send the money and get no product. Everyone wants wire or T/T form of payment to make sure they get their money, but how do buyers protect themselves, when establishing business with new suppliers?

If you want buy in International Trade, you have to place International orders, means a lot !
This orders you can pay secure with a Letter of Credit !

If you mean International Trade is buying some pieces from abroad, you better should use Ebay and pay with Paypal !

Replying to [aksjv3]: thank you. I would like to purchase products from a China supplier. If the company is not willing to use Paypal, I should not be bothered correct? Every supplier I contacted from Alibaba acts like they don't understand that I want COD, or something that will ensure my safety. I'm in the business to make money, not lose it to fraud. Are there any 3rd party companies that will inspect shipments, for you? What safety measures are available for new buyers from the US, that want to get into the Asian markets.

There are two common way to trade international. T/T and L/C.

T/T, buyer has pay part of the amount before, 20%, 30% and so on. The rest will be payed after the product arrived. With T/T, to ask a bank for credit on it and sign a relative contact that to make the risks away.

L/C, it is safe. Just follow the role and u can get.

As a buyer safest method of payment is Irrevocable Sight L/C.Do not start T/T payment with new suppliers untill build up trust with each other.
If any new supplier prefer T/T payment, who may be fraud.Payment method is one evident to identify fraud so you must be careful with payment.

Replying to [aksjv3]:Dear Aksjv3,
Farsha is partialy right.
If you pay by L/C, how do you know that goods you order are same as supplied by the seller. He may put in any trash and draw cash on production of BL.
Better option is to involve third party inspection before shipment for quality and quantity, and OK inspection certificate must accompany BL for payment to be released to seller.

The safetest way of payment for the buyers is payment after receipt of goods and inspection of all goods are satisfactory.

The question is, the safetest payment for the buyers may be the riskiest payment for the sellers.

L/C or factorying might be a bit more safe the T/T in advance and WU
