Will you quit a job you loved for a higher-paying one?

If you loved your job very much -- that is, enjoyed the job itself, the people you worked with, etc -- and it was very close to your home, but you didn't make quite as much money as you'd hoped, would you stick it out and wait to get a good raise, but find a part-time job in the meantime to make extra money, or would you quit to try to find a higher-paying job?

I work less than 5 miles from where I work, so I spend very little on gas each week, I can get to work in less than 10 minutes each day,and spend less on maintenance for my car at the same time. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with. Sound like the perfect job? It's not because it doesn't pay enough!

I know I have a couple promotions planned in the next few months, but I am not sure I will be making enough even after those promotions. Problem is that, while I have a great deal of experience in many fields, I have no degree. I am trying to stick it out for at least a few months to see if two raises improve anything, and I have gotten a PT job in the meantime, but what would YOU do in this situation?

it is very hard to say leave or stay, anyhow, i think you had better think three question about your job: 1, wage 2. hobby, 3. the colleague. wish you happy everyday.

Well, if the pay in the current job is really not enough to sustain my lifestyle (even after some adjustments here and there), I would consider the higher paying job. I'll be open to the possibility that I might also enjoy it. For me enjoyment is not really about outside things, but more of my attitude to life in general. So I would say go for it!

I think if you have an offer of a better paying job then you should consider it seriously and study all the pros and cons in detail after that if you decide it is suitable for you you should take it coz after all life does not offer many good opportunities and this might be one of those rare ones you shouldn't miss. also good opportunities deserve making some sacrifices.

Good Luck

It seems that many friends here face the same problem.

I work in a nice factory. It is a little far away from my home but the boss allow me shorter office time and solve my lunch problem with his friend's help. However, every time when others ask how do I go to work or how much I earn every month or how big the factory is, I feel embarrassed.

 Here is "small" towns (compared with shenzhen and guangzhou), seldom people go to work by bus. Usually, they drive motorbikes. I don't like motorbike---- it is unsafe, expensive (gas), save not too much time. So every day except Sunday, I walk about 15 mins to a station, take a bus (spend 20mins), walk 2 mins to the factory. No rush, my office time start at 9am. Even if I am a few minutes late, my boss will forgive me.

I am happy here for not too much pressure and simple interpersonal relationship. But my salary is too ... My mon said a cleaner might earn more than me. That's hateful. But I believe that things will be much better as time goes on. So I will stay here.

I think its not easy to look for one job that you loved and get much more money; I worked in one trade company; I am in charge of selling the product; the company just start to do the business with other country; so its not big; but every day I felt very happy when I face to each customer; it can improve eloquence and courage; I graduated from vocational school; so I felt luckly when I can study more new thing in one trade company; though my salary is less than many people; but I will wonderful very day; so I will work hard then I am sure I will get much more it;
So I think you need to consider then make a decision; so good luck and bless you;[em1]

Yeah, it's good luck  that you can have a stable jod between the economic crisis .so many people cann't choose their  lifestyle . They will have to work long time to get less money .I have the same predicament at this time.

I have no high diploma, no experiment, bad eloquence, i cann't look for a better job ,only work  as a sales coordinator in a small factory . I must work six days and need to slove the  eating and housing problems by myself. We should study the gratefulness and satisfaction !

Don't give up ! I say to me every time!

Good luck to everybody!
