To live in china must be awfull. First of all the language. They cannot even normally comunnicate to each other not saying about white guy, who speaks only English, Russian spanish and Italian. I was there once.

[em12]

China only works if you trade with them. Cheap. Thats it.

What  i can only tell you is that live in China is better than live in korea.
Are you talking out of your national pride, or out of your experience when you compare Korea and China?

There are some good about Korea (South) and some good about China. However you have to mention which city, in South Korea, and in China. If you were to compare Seoul to Shanghai, then you will have to list point to point when comparing each other.

  1. Transportation system: The Subway, or METRO. The Public Transportation System: the bus, or taxi system.
  2. Food - restaurants available and within the price affordable by the average wage earner.
  3. Entertainment : The night life, the disco and drinking pubs. Television programs, movie shows and the cinemas.
  4. Social order and safety : Is it safe to go out alone at night? What is the crime rate per thousand?
  5. Living environment, the pollution, air, drinking water, food, and natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes, typhoons, etc.
  6. Language and cultural barriers: are the local accepting the foreigners? Can they communicate freely?
  7. Cost of living and CPI, the current situation.

For French man, they find themselves more acceptable by the local than the Korean. There are always overflowing baggages, such as historical feeling about a nation, for example the Japanese for their past invasion of China and the war atrocities. However, the Japanes can communicate with the local better than the Korean, because of their writing in Kanji. Most younger Koreans cannot communicate in other language other than the Hangu. The Chinese is not so comfortable with the Koreans as the past Korean war haunts them.

I find the cost of living higher, and more expensive in South Korea, than in China, but in Shanghai, it is expensive. Food is more acceptable to a foreigner in China, as there are many restaurants to cater for the Foreign foods. The Koreans are less adaptable to foreigners living there, but are also food chains like Pieza Hut, and Wendy in Korea, however they are fewer than the Chinese capital cities.

Things like clothes and apparels are expensive in South Korea, especially the foreign brands such as NIKE and Hush Puppies. This is because of the import tax. In China, there are many factories making these tee shirts, shoes, clothes and TV or Refrigerator, they are much cheaper. If you are from France, it will definitely be very much cheaper, in everything as compared with living in Paris. They also pay higher income tax, about 40 - 50% of their salary to the Inland Revenue. This money goes to pay to those who are on Social Welfare benefits. That's where I read about a British who wrote that their Government gives them US$700 about to those who has no work for the dough. But he did not mention about the high cost of living in London, and some major cities in UK.

i think it depends on the place where you are, if you were live in big city, you may feel that it is very crowed and life is always in rapid pace, even if it has good public utilities, it means very convenient, but you can find the relastionship between people is bland, and atmosphere is depressive sometimes.

but when you in small town or village, you feel relax, and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, that is another kind of life, comfortable, cozy and happy. if you are interesting in chinese culture, you can design the route of a journey yourself, then experience different scenery and life style.

Any way, i like life in china

It is stupid for some chinese to ask forigners whether it is hard or nice to live in China, and this is a very stupid question!

Some foreign people are happy to live here, some not, it is very normal, we chinese do not care about if they are happy or not, because in other countries, there are always foreign people are happy to live there and not happy to live, what is the big deal, man?

There are always losers out there complainting the inconvenient life in China, if you want to live well, then go crawl back to you mum! Why travel out??

Its not hard, just confusing. Its hard to get a deacent western food, but apart from that no problems so far.

I know western people complain about China, dirty and easy to get frusrated but if you go in to China with a open mind, i think it helps alot. If you expect a MC-donalds drive thrue here and there, dont even cross the border. China has next to nothing when it comes to influences from west. I think that is good and make China unique in the world.

Do you really need MC-Donalds? Look a how heavy the customers are and look at how little they get for the money spent. Personally im sick and tired of big companys making junk.

China should make it easy for small western companies to establish instead. After all the west has alot of great mouth watering food to offer. Lower the import tax and make it easy to start up something. I like to see many real western cafes, Danish "smorrebro" or Frensh "bauguette" or whatever. Today i go to IKEA and get the food from there if i need. Cheap and reliable and pretty good after all.

it's easy to live in China, as the exchange rate of Korea curent to RMB is not good, they need more money to live in China than before, but not the same to the france.
