Why is it so hard to find China Manufacturers?
Post 1 of 31

I have been sourcing products in China off and on for about 15 years now. I still find it somewhat hard to find factory's to produce the products I want to build.

For example, I identified about 15 factories on this web site that I thought could do the job. That was about a week ago and to date, at least 5 of them have not even replied.

The product is a handheld electronic game of medium complexity. We are going to be producing at least 300,000 in 2009 so not a small amount. Our primary clients are Wal-Mart and Target so do we have some standards like a ICTI certification. Additionally the factory will have to follow ASTM-F963 standards. We will be espoting this product to North America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. We are in the early stages of developing our second product which will be in development next year and in production for 2010.

I have tried posting buying leads on this web site but all I seem to get are unqualified factories or a lot of spam.

Am I asking for too much?

As a supplier, I also agree with you. It is really not so easy to find a good supplier.

I have been employed in a factory and now in a trade company. Not all the bosses are able to take the issue in the long run. If you want to purchase the style they already have, it will be easy. But if you go with your new idea, and it seems difficult, the supplier, always a salesman, will not be able to decide on his own. When he goes for the boss, he would always get this reply, " Check with the customer to know how much they will place the order." How foolish to ask this question ! Isn't it.

A good reliable partner means what ? I not like someone says they are professional, reliable supplier, etc. It sounds as if they can be the best partner in the world. But actually what? What they promised high quality goods can have many problems. What they promised Time Delivery  never comes true. Maybe nine out of 10 suppliers can not get the necessary certificate in the industrial they engaged in, how can they boast they are professional ....

Buziness is buziness, no exact friend in the world. And i should say one point, many customers think made-in-china are cheaper goods. I dont think so. So many factories are adapted advanced technics for products. But they always emphasized on price which push factories degrade quality for getting the order. And also some immoral person exist, let them alone. Buziness need both party for cooperation. Personally speaking, trade agent can provide better service tha factory, this is my experience, i am doing global trade now.

Actually,it's easily to find a good factory. The import is profit!!

But most of chinese factories are good. They look forward to connect a good and long-term cooperationg with their client.Certainly, all business must be based on mutual benifit.Often some client ask lower and lower price, they make the factory's profits less and less.So they have to think how to come down cost,so that they can earn profit.

Anyway, the mutual benifit is the most important base.

I can't agree with you any more.A win-win realationship is the most important.

Same hard to find real foreign buyer especially in this hard period.

I'm International Dept Sales manager–kingswel machinery.

We're direct manufacturer of blow molding machine. We're Kingswel company.

Our Website: http://www.kingswel.com

my mail: hfyj@kingswel.com

To find a real buyer is so difficult. We mostly depend on our agents.

But you could find Chinese friends who work in your revelant production area and i think they would be glad  to help you.Do business directly with manufacturer would save more money than with trading companies.
