What's the matter with my NOKIA 5000 mobile phone?

Hi,everyone,this is Miss Rolin, known as "littlesheep" in ali forum.

I bought this NOKIA 5000 mobile phone during  China's National Day Holiday.Doubtlessly, NOKIA is the No. 1 international brand in mobilephone industry. Famous for its high-quality.ALL PEOPLE KNOW THIS FACT!

However,"black screen" has occured three times within one month.I don't know why.Nearly get mad! Anyone who can help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

You haven't sated what you were doing when the screen went black (blank).  There are a few known conditions where this has happened.  You can do two things:

  1. Reset your Nokia 5000 to the original factory settings and try again.  If that doesnt work go to #2
  2. Take your phone back to where you bought it and ask them to upgrade your phone to the new firmware for it.  V 04.60 03-07-08 RM-362

You may be able to get this firmware update through Nokia China by logging on to their site and downloading the firmware directly.

Ranger,thank you very much for your reply!

NOKIA 5000 (purple) has many functions,including "camera" & "QQ chatting tool". With my favorite color and unique design (ultra-thin electroplate), it really looks SMART! I never thought "black screen" frequently occurs when I use "QQ chatting tool".Ranger,do you think it has problems itself? OR because of my "bad luck"? [em8]

Actually,I've already taken it to our local "Nokia Maintenance Station". The staff said " You've already kept it for one month.It is impossible for exchange new one.Also we will not test the mobile for you,will directly repair it! " My god! Nearly mad!

Actually,it cost me $132, not very expensive.However, it is 100% new in appearance! What a pity!

Who will offset my " spiritual loss"?[em4]

In that case I would save the files you need and then go to the Nokia China website and download the new firmware yourself.  The steps are self explanatory and should eliminate the problem your having.
