The trade companys have large of manufacturers source.Most of time,after you communicate with ONE trade company and the company understand your idea or requirements. Then you can find out the right manufacturer. Otherwise,Maybe you want to contact ONE HUNDRED manufacturers and communicate with all of them. Then to choose the right manufacturer.
Most of buyer think one question that is the price of trade company is higher than the manufacturer. In fact,the business executive work in trade company they have rich experience on the products,shipping,payment settlement and so on. They know the real price,quality and other and how to higgle with the manufacturer.
An obvious sample, WalMart one of the biggest buyer in the world. Walmart contact the trade company mainly and ask the trade company to develop the manufacturer and products,to higgle with the manufacturer. Walmart named the trade company "Vender" and manufacturer "factory". Walmart to inspect the factory,but never to establish the direct contact with factory.

I don't know why you must find a factory,if I were you,I will care who can give you best quality with good price,not every factory would like to buy a platform to introduce themselves.I think the only way is to ask a worker to visit that factory.

Usually quality of OEM Flash drives aer very poor.

If you want to find the factory, the best way is you go to CHINA, but you didn't know which factoy quanlity/price/lead time is good, so you need to compare many difference factory and make the order, this is the risk too, also if you are not long term client, if any problem, maybe they will not to take with you, Trading company have most difference client to make order. so they are the long term and stable order with factory.....sometimes maybe discuss with factory is better then you. Also Chinese mostly is best on relationship.

Ask some professional questions which concerns to the furture sales in your markets, esp. tenchnique data, cost variations on the changes upon both appearance and key function etc. Normally the quicker responses comes from the factories. But it is not a problem if you place your orders on a factory or a trade company. Who can serve you better, he has enough reasons to get your order supports. Sometimes the reasons do not relate to the products only, do you think so?

Best way is to find a partner in China.Internet is internet,it can reflect the reality but it is not the 100% reality.Also,I do not think trading company could not offer you competitive price especially you are not buying in huge quantity.Manufactors will not like to deal with you because most of them have exporting agents.All they do is JUST produce.
