how to find a factory and not a small trade company?

 I had been spending some time looking for a flashdisk factory,  i want to first order around 1000 units of 16 gb flashdisks. But looks like most of the selling leads are from small trade companys, those can not give a real competitive price. Some advice for regconize a real factory just looking at the selling lead?

Best way is to find a partner in China.Internet is internet,it can reflect the reality but it is not the 100% reality.

Also,I do not think trading company could not offer you competitive price especially you are not buying in huge quantity.anufactors will not like to deal with you because most of them have exporting agents.All they do is JUST produce.




yes ,  i agree with you,  the Manufactors are not  handle better than Trading company in the cooperations,  all they do is just produce, i know that ,

The thing The manufactors do is really produce,but not just produce.You are taking it for granted.There are still have a few manufactors who know not only produce,but also trading.The problem maybe is that you never meet such manufactor like that.

It's also true that not all the thing the trading companies do is enquiring and haggling.

In fact,many trade companies don't know the produce well.They are only playing a part in communication between the customers and the manufactors.The manufactors can control the quality they produce,give a more competitive price to the customers and play a more important part.Do you agree?If you want to find such manufactors,why not keep on?You'll find them at last.

I am not going to say that doing business with factories directly is better than doing business with trading companies. It is true that you can get better price by contact with factories directly, but trading companies provide you with better service, they have many factory resource and you don't have to worry their production capacity. 

I am from a trading company specialize in ladies' knitted underwear and swimwear, I know better which particular field that a factory is more capabel in. Factory A does very good in swimwear, factory B does well in making sexy lingeries, factory C is an expert in making underwear that is more mainsteam for every wear, factory D is more capable of making nursing bras and so on....

 As long as they have their job well done, they deserve your trust, and they can be your good suppliers and friends too.

Please don't have bias toward trading company. They also can give you competitive price,as they can have a better understaning of the markets than factories. Please have confidence in trading company and they won't let you dowm. Have good luck.

ask them to show ISO certification and so on, compair company name listed with their licence show

and you can find the number of employee,  if the supplier is a gold supplier of alibaba.

conclusion, if the No. is above 100, it must be a factory, and if not , it is a trading company.

if the order quantity is small then cooperate with trading company is not a bad choice. Normally, trading company have their long-relation factory partners, trade with them will save your time. as for manufactory especial to big manufactory who always interested in clients' big order,meanwhile, very small factory is too hard to meet customers' requirements. however, above mentioned is just a generally example, we can't judge them by same standard. As a buyer, need spend more time to select probably suppliers or trading company or factory. good luck!

Some factories are also company, like my company, We have two factories, and have our own website.

Exactly, there is much factories exporting their products overseas. You should have a search by keywords. Take my company for example, if you seach the keywords like compact mirror, there is lots of  factories appeared.

Then distinguish which is the real factory.

Generally speaking, factories have their own homepages, not on Alibaba or Tradekey. Next time, before you place an order, you can visit their website.




Yes, many factory are not on the alibaba, and they don't attend show fair. you may find them by baidu, that is the chinese website.

Maybe it is more important to find a reliable partner than a real factory,actually to lower cost and gain more benefits is the aim to do business,bear risk carefully,you could get what you want finally. good luck !
