Is there an affordable to return a small package back to china?  I have an item in a 10x10x10 box with a weight of aprox 2 lbs.  Per USPS cheapest price was $18, Priority or First class was $38 and UPS is $134.18.  This is shipping from Az usa to Shenzhen china.

I need to provide a tracking number to the agent for my return but only UPS offers a tracking number.  USPS can prove the item was sent and provides a number for that, but can't provide a tracking number to actually track the package, nor delivery confirmation.  I am unable to locate a EMS shipping location in my area to send the item from.  Is there a place anyone could recommend that could ship the item back to china at prices comperable to EMS prices?  They must be able to provide a tracking number.  Thank you.

You can ship via Fed Ex.  They used to be the old Flying Tiger in China based company.  They can ship just as cheap and track it better.

The problem is that your package will not be allowed in by customs.  There is what is called the China Compulsorary Certificate.  The manufacture that the return is going to and the customs have to be in agreement that this certificate is in place.  In reality the manufacturers refuse everything as does customs and you cannot get anything covered under warranty.  There is no warranty.  If it breaks or arrives defective its your tough luck.  The companies do not care.  They think you should buy another new one and take your chances again.

We use the USPS's Express Mail International, which costs $28.50 ($26.22 if bought via an online account with your credit card) to ship 1 lb to China, and $32.75 for 2 lbs..  This comes with $100 insurance by default - more can be purchased if needed.  EMI is economical, trackable and insurable, and is worth the money.

Don't opt for USPS Priority Mail International, which the USPS also offers.  It is cheaper, but there is no official tracking of your parcel and parcels can travel to their destination without ever being scanned at any point along their travel, which is unacceptable.

The USPS also offers another service, provided under contract by FEDEX, called Global Express Guaranteed, but it is a lot more expensive.  Basically, you need to know the item arrived, and you need to be able to track it, and be able to file an insurance claim if it gets lost or damaged.  We have shipped hundreds of international parcels using Express Mail International, with few problems.
