Alex,

Sorry to be the one to tell you this.  If the seller is only willing to take western union or wire transfer.....RUN they are scammers.  Take it from me.  If you wire money consider it gone.  You will never receive your order and you will never get your money back.  Legit sellers will take other forms of payment....credit cards, COD, paypal, etc...

DON'T DO IT!!!

lsears1113 sorry but you are partially incorrect in your statement regarding WU and Bank Transfer.  Yes nobody legit in the industry uses Western Union, however most of the mobile phone business is done by Bank Wire Transfer.

You will find that most distributors/manufacturers/trade companies for the majority use wire transfer.  In this business where margins are thin, you cannot give 2-3% to visa/mastercard/amex or paypal.

For example, an order of $50,000 is not very practical to send through paypal, and if you were to use a credit card it would cost maybe $1000 - 1500 alone just in fees where a bank wire may be only $50.  If you are buying 100 phones at $500/pc, thats the difference of 50cents/phone or up to $15/phone.  As you can see, thats a HUGE difference.

Also many distributors/manufacturers that accept credit card may tell you that there is an additional 2-3% charge if you wish to pay this way.  That could be the difference in a make or break deal.  So as you can see, bank wire is the norm.

Thats not to say that you should just wire every company that asks you for one.  Of course you have to do your research etc. on your own.  But please be aware that Bank Wire is the most common way to do business in this industry.  Good luck in your search.

PS.  To sign up for a paypal account just go to www.paypal.com.  But Paypal isn't even safe either.  Go to www.paypalsucks.com and read.  Good luck.

Hi Alex,

Firstly, i think there is no need to pose this type of question on the forum. Obviously you know how to use the internet so it would be quite simple to go to a western union site and locate an agent.

http://www.westernunion.com/info/osMoneyTransfer.asp?country=UA

The agent can tell you exactly what fee you need to pay.

Furthermore, reply should be specifically be related to the questions you are asking rather than someone giving you a lecture on how the banking and transfer system (unless you've specifically post/ask for such info).

Good Luck

Last time I sent money to China it was $14 for the first $1000 and $17 for over $1000. But befored you WU money anywhere do your research on the company you are sending money to because we don't want to see you scammed.
