The painting in your avatar doesn't necessarily have to resemble you, but I thought that you were at least of the same gender. Please explain.

Replying to [germex]: Dear Germex, Moolan =Mulan is an ancient Chinese heroine who had aged father and young brother, she disguised as a man joined the army to fight the invaders and later on she became a general and the emperor wanted her to marry the princess, then her true identity was revealed. She got the fame and her true love, a happy ending.
Disney made a cartoon movie based on this story.
Best regards,
Moolan

Hi Moolan,
thanks for the explanation. Responding to your post "Retirement in China" I asked you for it again, but now here it is.
From what you are saying about the original Mulan, for me she is the "typical" Chinese person... in a way. My impression is that the Chinese people are strong when it comes to defending themselves and when they have to recover from a tragedy, but I've never preceived them as agressors.
Overall, the Chinese culture seems to be respectful and positive, and that's one of the reasons I would like to live in your country. With all those great inventions your country has made in the past, you could easily have dominated the world, but that was never your intention. I appreciate that because it tells a lot of nice things about your country and culture. And your traditional construction, landscaping, art, etc. all talk the same language. - Pure beauty!

Replying to [germex]: Dear Germex, thank you very much for your nice comments on China. You are right, but I must remind you that in every corner of the world, there are good people and bad people, so you be careful in all your dealing. Do your "Due Diligence".
Moolan is the idol for many Chinese people, dependable sister, filial piety daughter, devoted and brave soldier, faithful friend.
Good luck,
Moolan

Hi Moolan,
you are right about "due diligence". I have been living in 6 countries and been to about ten more. Everywhere you find crooks and nice people, but still so there are some differences. Now I'm looking for a place where the "bottom line" is attractive for me.
The name in your profile sounds totally English - not Chinese - to me. How is that?
