I'm pretty new in the business & before I want to proceed with my order, I'd like to know how can I make sure that once I pay the seller it will be guaranteed that my order will be shipped.
An LC payable upon BL copy will ensure that product has been sent to you, but is no guarantee that what has been sent is what you want to buy.
The only way that you can be sure that what is in the container is the product and quality that you ordered is:
a. to have a clear quality outline of the product you are ordering and a signed confirmation sample at the factory:
b. pay an inspection company or individual agent to inspect the goods before they ship to ensure that what is being sent is the same as the confirmation sample that you signed.
Of course you want to make sure before you place the order that the supplier is at the location they claim to be at and that they can in fact make the product that they are offering for sale.

i think,that's a difficulty and troublesome problem.LC is a good way,but it's troublesome too,if the amount is small,i think no facotry will accpet LC.if you can come here,go to the factory to check,if not,ask a friend to do this,if you do not have a friend here,ask the inspect company and pay them.
but i think it's necessary,many of my clients do not come here also place me an larger oder.but why?trust.trust is first thing.

I am in a similar situation.
After reading the info on some of these forums (useful!), it has given me some perspective.
The way I am first proceeding is to:
1. Be very clear in what I want - provide pics; electronic info; trading certificates
2. Obtain trade references
3. Contact those refs and verify supplier
4. Make contact with an agent who is local and also has good references they have provided who are also local to you and can verify they are legit and do good business
5. Provide a sample and get a sample from supplier
6. And then, go from there...
Basic, but a start.

A China agent works.
L/C is the best way if you do not have agent,but many factories do not accept L/C.
Under this situation,I think a good shipping agent is what you need.

my idea giving is not bassed on brand items.
The problem is not how, but you have to trust them, this required you to do a good search and check everything of them company, once you think they are good, trust them and start all the work with them, sampling and giving small orders to test them, all business have risk. Everybody have this program to go through. if you are so afraid, you can do nothing.
There is a saying" without risk, you can not get money".
i find as a byer you dont have to be verified as you pay your money first so for the seller to be verified its very important then the buyer feels comfortable he or she will not lose the money also i have noticed there are lots of rc equipment sellers in indonasia but none are verifyed i want deal with them simple be safe and only deal with verified sellers good luck dont get ripped off
