Drinking hot water or cold water?
Post 1 of 30
Globe travellers might be aware of the differences of water drinking habit between Asian people and the Westners.

The Asian people, such as Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, but most westerners prefer drinking cold (many add ice) water.

Which is better for your body?

Replying to [BioMan]: It is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!!

Nothing to lose, everything to gain...

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to
You. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line t he intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

That is why I suggested drink 1 hour after a meal. By that time the digestion in the stomach would have been completed and the digested food would then go to the small intestine and be absorbed. If you drink water , the water will quickly reach body temperature inside anyway. Its the first hour which is very important not to, also cold water reduces the heat in the stomach..its like throwing water over a fire, it dampens it down.
Actually the best thing is a glass of luke warm/ or normal water with a slice of lemon or some lemon juice. That is very very good...esp. first thing in the morning [em3][em3][em3]

[em1] well that is me..I guess...try warm water with lemon juice..you can have it any time ...doesnt have to be in the morning...it actually alkalizez the body..most of our body including our blood Ph is acidic, that is why we get sick..you will find that an alkalizing body, does not get prone to sickness...(bad bacteria in the body love acidic environments). Foods which causes acidity are Mainly Meats and Animal products. Alkalizing foods are mainly vegtables which add minerals to the diet. There is a fast known as the Lemon Juice Fast or the Master Cleanse Fast which is basically Lemon Juice and water fast. It detoxes and alkalizez the body. Worth Trying. If your body is kept in a slightly alkaline condition, you will never have any serious disease when you grow old..
Also salts, you have to be carefull..too much Sodium in the Diet is not a good thing, that also causes the cells to mis function...it is better to balance the Sodium salt intake with Potassium (which is derived mainly from leafy green vegtables, and sea veg. , KELP). Potassium is the electrolye needed inside the cell, and Sodium outside the cell. Too much Sodium salt in the body and the cell stops working because of excess Sodium over potassium. Advice to limit Sodium salt intake and increase Potassium intake from sea vegtables and greeny vegtables. Technically it is known as the Sodium-Potassium Pump. The Pump pumps in food and nutrients into the cell and pumps out waste products from inside the cell. If there is too much sodium imbalance in our body, some of the cells stop working because there is buildup of waste materials inside them (act like sewers)and they either die or degenerate and break up into sick cells which may become cancerous in years from now...The Japanese drink Miso Soup. It is the perfect balance of sodium and potassium. Miso paste is very high in sea salt(3-4%), and the sea vegtables addes to the soup are even higher in potassium(7%)..so you get the perfect Sodium-Potassium ratio[em2][em2][em2]
