Is a Trustpass Profile really helping buyers?
Post 1 of 5
It really is a challenge for buyers from around the world to verify the truth about a supplier.    Sometimes things seem to be all going right, until you make a decision to finally purchase even a sample unit and only after you have transferred the payment will you find out that you have been scammed.

Then this question must really be settled.   Is a TRUSTPASS PROFILE really out to make buyers trust a supplier?   Or it is one of the biggest ploy a supplier can do to lure more buyers to be later scammed?

Is a TRUSTPASS PROFILE really helping buyers?   Is there a way for us to verify the truth about it?

Trustpass profile at alibaba means nothing as far as security or trustworthiness of a seller. It is merely a way for alibaba to collect more membership fees from sellers which is a shame as if done properly it could add a real value to the website.

There is no substitute for good old common sense, due dillgence, and an in person visit.

Tom Law you need to check what you think to be true.

Yes Alibaba call it Trustpass as the idea is that getting trustpass status is a verification from a third party. So it seems like a good idea doesnt it.

So how do you explain sellers listed on alibaba with false contact information and offering to sell products that they have no legal right to be selling?

The answer is that in a rush to get more and more companies listed here on alibaba they have lowered the standards for checks and balances.

In the past Trustpass would mean checks on a seller by a third party company, checks of business registrations, checks of contact informatin, and perhaps even an onsite visit. Now it is often a case of just rubber stamping the approval.

If Trustpass was effective then no buyer here would be scammed by Trustpass members right? So how do you explain the simple fact that so many buyers are getting scammed by Gold Suppliers with Trustpass?
