I dont really know what kind of answer you are looking for , but it is claer that they are two countries demacated by boundry, tradition, language, government and people, they might look alik, they might be close neighbours but it really does not stop the fact that they are two distinct entities.

Only after mr. gandhi decided to split india in two by letting the extrem muslim nation take what they wanted and that to at the cost of the punjabies. India is a multi relegious country - Pakistan is only a muslim country
India is the biggest democracy - Pakistan is the Islamic republic

India has become a world economic power - Pakistan has lost all to the taliban
India is against extremist - Pakistan trains them
India has more then 1billion popula - Pakistan has near about 160million
I could go on and on, but the main problem is all this differences I mentioned above are political views, as a human and from the view point of heritage, there is not a difference, since we all are humans, and derived from the same land and country, by listening more to the politicans we will only destroy more, but by understanding the heritage we will come together in peace.
If you ask me what the difference between india and pakistan is, as a politican would say there are thousands differences
But if I ask you return as a human, "Why do you ask a question that will only create more seperation?"
