Actually, we are now doing business with An American company, which is doing trading deal.

We also known that who is the direct buyer. 

We are now also doing business with him because he really help a lot in USA.

In our opinion, we would do business with trading company if he/she accecpt our pirce.

Why are the trading company still exist in the world. Because they push the business.  That is all for this reason.

First of all, thank you so much for the good topic.

In my opinion, you both are "Burning The Bridge You Passed", which is an ethic in dealing business, if you stop placing order with A. It is ABSOLUTELY unfair for A (if A is a sincere supplier and is a good company one).

Don't forget that you know B from A, as A informed you that B is a manufacture. How would you know B if you don't know A?

I would like to share my experience with you. I worked in Japanese company who has branches around Asia (and has its own factory in Japan also) and I learned their ways of dealing business which I feel it is very honest and sincere way!

As a marketing staffs, I got orders from clients everydays and then place order to our suppliers. Many times, in Thailand's branch, we also had the same items as our Tokyo branch has. But we cannot supply that product to clients directly, we should place order to our Tokyo branch to supply to us.

Can you guess, why?

The answer is, as the clients first bought the item from our Tokyo branch and have been buying the items from them for decade. Therefore, we must place order to our Tokyo branch, cannot supply directly to our clients.

You may wonder that our clients know about this? Sure, they know that our Thailand branch also has this item, but they are pleased to follow the business ethic.

And sometimes, we had to place order to other companies, while our own company also has the same item.

I hope you learn some lesson from this. I myself learned that Japanese companies are very strict with business ethics, they won't let "GREEDY" to possess them. They don't focus only on profit, but they also focus on long lasting relationship based on real, honesty, sincerity and compassion which I admire them a lot.

As persons who are in business world. Don't let GREEDY possess you as money is not everything in life. Don't forget that we all have only a SHORT TEMPORARY LIFE TIME and you cannot bring MONEY or any assets from your life with you after you die. Money or assets are not the REAL things which can fulfil you heart. Just follow business ethics, then you will get good results from it, I'm confident (I believe in Action = Reaction).

P.S. "Melamine" is the best examples of the greedy way in doing the business. You can see the big impact of the bad thing they did!

As some said earlier..., Profit /money is goal for businessmen. If  we buy from a trader or mfrg is not much important. But as long as prices are acceptable, we can go ahead.


I am trader and mostly like to work with manufacutrers to cut down the prices and to make little more margins. But, I found in China many traders Say that they are manufacturers, this is what i am not able to accept.

Upon most occasions, trading company has its advantages as everyone discussed.

1) Trading company is the bridge between the buyers and the factories.

Trading company would be more professional in foreign trade than the factory.

They attend fairs, advertise in b2b website. So trading company push the business.

2) Trading company protect the buyers' profits and offer better service.

Trading company have the orders managed and supervised, quality control.

The factories may have their QC team in the factory, but the trading company would be more strict about the inspection and give the buyers the double insurance.

Trading company would als offer better after sales service.

3) Trading company has a wide collection of products from different factories, so the buyer has more choices.

My original intention was to discuss if my buyer would like to order from A or B for the repeat orders. ( not dicussing about if buyers would order from the factory or from the trading company)

I would like to explain more about my topic, as it is a little different.

Frankly speaking, A is not very useful in this business.

But he leads the business to be done. This is his contribution.

The person in the factory speak english, the factory do everything, in another word, the factory communicated with my buyer directly, not through trading company.  I mean, the trading company A didn't work too much in this business.

Maybe if the buyers wouldn't have come to China for inspection, maybe all communication between the buyers and the manufactory would through A. (and the buyer would never know the trading company sell his order to the cooperated factory.)

So if my buyer place the repeats order with B through A, it will be for his ethies and moral only.

All the communications and works will be done directly between the buyer and the factory B only same as this order.

As a sourcing agency, my concern would be same as what you said, "to have the buyer come back again and again by giving him the best service at the lowest possible price.I think that is the most profitable way in the long run.

Summarized: lowest possible price, best service lead the long run business.

Yes, I am really agreeed with the buyer, he is a sensible person , because the long-time interests are better that the interest you get in the short term ." It is a kind of insurance payment " , very good view . I am really appreciated.

In the future, I would suggest you to talk to the trader first instead of talk to your buyer. As your buyer is already happy with everything, then why create some trouble for him to think about?

At the time when you realize that person is a trader, I think you should be happy about it. That means you found one more person who will go find a lot more factories for different products for you and your buyer. Perhaps good price too.

I am a trader too. My customers love to do business with me is because I can always find good quality products for them. Of course the price would be higher than direct factory deal. Other than share the risk, I also give ideas and provide many useful information to my customers. I will be very upset if any of my customer want to make a bit more bucks to cut me off.
