I have already lost several customers because of sample fee, they don't want to pay for the samples.

This is a letter of them, please tell me what should I do?

"Our policy is we do not pay for samples for evaluation. With the volume of tubing we take per year we can not afford to order from a supplier until we see the actual product we will get.

Other companies are in the process of supplying the samples, I would like to send some of our business your way since your price is very competitive but I must have an actual sample of the finished product first.

Let me know if you can arrange this."

Yes, this is real a problem. Some customers want to get samples for free but we don't know whether they are our real customers. Sometimes, they just want to get the sample personally but not for business check.

I think samples fee can show the sincerity  for both the seller and buyer.

Our usually doing is that we charge the sample fee and will return it when real order come after our customers check the sample.

Perhaps the customer who just want to get free of charge samples is not real customer.just my opinion for reference.Real customer will pay sample fee .

i  will send free sample to our customers if the sample is not expensive and not high value

,and customer pay the shipping cost for free sample.

If sample cost is expensive and high value ,i will ask customer to pay sample fee.

If u are a mould manufacturer, how could u send customer free mould ?if  your mould is very expensive each one over  USD100000?

We charge sample fee from our customers, and return to them

recently a customer ask me to send him samples, for free, I finally agree. but I didn't send the samples finally because he refuse to pay for the freight. He asked me to send samples by the cheapest way(regulation mail), but even this, he refuse to pay the fee.

So I give up. We pay for the samples, and if we also pay for the freight, we bear too much lose if there's no orders from them.

We don't like to do businessmen who wants to get something from us for nothing. and we never do this to our suppliers and our customers.

    From IUBA-INDIA.

A sample for evaluation is also one of pre sale activities. Therefore inform your customer want to pay the sample or collect the samples returnable basis or whatever demo or used products by your customers are billable. If the customer giving us order against sample means send 20% sample and after confirming the order balance 80% will be delivered to them. The transportation cost for this 20% and balance 80% delivery we can recommend our customer as EOQ methods of bulk order with multiple supply.  Better please consult with your Materials consultant for better Win win (both side of Suppler (
    Sale
) & Customer side without loss) Trade idea and achieve your sales targets.
