hello,every one ,I have a problem now,I met a client from Greece ,who would place an order to me about my sunglasses, about 5000$

she ask me to open L/C ,but the shipment  she request is by air, I don't know how to control the risk.

Is there any one can give me some suggestions ?

I'm sincerely,but I don't know if my client is also sincerely, and she don't allowed to pay deposite. so tell me your opinion ,

if it is possible to do, and if possible how to control the risk. thanks very much!!!!!

What's the problem?

your client write in L/C to present original air way bill instead of B/L as the required document and that's it.

Dear friend,

There will be a little risks in my opinion.Because your clients can get the goods by the copy of airway bill. (the air is fast)Then if something wrong is on the documents,the issue bank can refuse to pay you.

In this situation,here are 2 suggestions,

1st, to ensure your negotiation ducuments is completely right could not be refused by issue bank. Pls check the L/C more carefully again.(by draft at sight and irrevocable) if not,pls goes

2nd, Full amount by T/T,because your order is not a big deal(only USD5000)

If your clients can not accepted after the 2nd plan,I suggest you'd better drop the order or find out some other ways.

1.)    there is no risk in l/c but the l/c ahould be irrevocable

2.) there must be mentioned that documents needed is airway bill instead of bill of lading

3.) after you will submit all the documents the you will get your money

Thanks every body,  some friend give me good advice,  the air agent is very important, I should do CIF ,and keep the awb in my hand,  and use this number to let the bank pay me.

and the L/C should be irrevocable.to ensure after the products arrive they don't drop this order.

but there is another problem, if I do CIF, who will be the receiver?

Best way is BG and send it throgh the best courier fedx or dhl

 Receiver will be, Your Buyers bank which will release your cargo against your  AWB  to them in terms of payments against they have executed L.C. and L.C. would be mentioned the all surities to pay on submission of AWB to your bank. And they will release cargo cose they have got amonut beforre execute L.C.

The Lc has to be irrevocable, confirmed, and payment on sight of documents  and opened by top bank. Your bank also should confirm it. Present the airway bill and all the required documents and your bank will claim the money from the buyers bank. Once your bank confirms it then it is the banks responsibility to get your money. I dont think  there is any risk involved. All the Best.
