hello, I ve been trying to improve my English, both writing and speaking. do you guys have any good tips to share? Appreciate your reply.

hey hello my friends; mine english also is not good; but i can give you some ideas that my friends gave me; hope to useful for you; first; you need to try your best to speak more english with your friends; even you just know a little; but you need to try to do; and second; you need to remeber more new words; and some time you can see more english movie and news; the third; i think also more important to listen to the english; or you can chat with some foreigner on some web-site; that's all; hope to the ideas can improve yr english; we can study from each other; good luch to you!!

Well, talking in english with your friends might not be the best choices. For example my company, even if the staff wishes to learn english and they are willing to talk english with each other, but useless because non of them speak decent english so even when you speak english with each other, you will never know if u speak the correct word or there might be some grammar mistakes but u will never notice.


Chat with foreigner...depends...if the foreigner understand what you are trying to say in the first place...


Reading english newspaper is good. As for me, i don't know how to read chinese but i am a chinese. So i tend to read chinese newspaper and look into the dictionary for the words i am not sure of...but u must be patient in order to do so...dictionary = thick book. Don't get frustrated if you are not used to it in the first place..


So the way i am going to recommend you is...singing the english songs =)

Tested by my cousin sister who do not know english at all, not spoken and not written. She bought CD's or sometimes borrow from friends, look for the lyrics online and listen to the song, sing together with it and slowly her english improved. Although she could not write an essay, but she can write out descriiption and other details clearly and understandable. She also can speak decent english now :D Well, only if you like listen to music =)

Thank you so much for sharing your expeirence with me. listening to music is really helpful in studying English, and I have enjoyed this way for years and it works.  Speaking with foreigners is good as well. I used to work in Bangladesh for half a year and my english improved. After that, I worked with some American and learnt a lot from them. But still I wish to enhance my english skill to a higher level. Again, thank you so much.
