Has anyone here ever sold anything to Nigeria?
Post 1 of 11
I have been contacted by a company that has placed and order for containers of products. He has agreed to my terms and is ready to wire the money. Did not ask for samples, references, nada. To test him, I told him the deposit would be 50% payable by Bank Wire to Escrow.com. He didn't have a problem with that. I am a seller and I normally do not even respond to Nigerians but this came with a PO and they are now wanting the invoice. So, has anyone out there ever sold ANYTHING to Nigeria?

I AM AFRAID ITS A SCAM. THEY TRY TO GET YOUR BANK DETAILS THATS WHY THEY AGREE TO EVERYTHING THEN THEY PROCEED TO USE YOUR INFO TO TRY TO ACCESS YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AND EMPTY IT. ITS A VERY POOR FRAUD ATTEMPT. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH NIGERIA , BENIN, LAGOS ETC!! YOU WILL FIND THAT YOU HAVE WASTED SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY FOR NOTHING WHEN YOU CAN BE DOING OTHER USEFUL THINGS! ASK A HUNDRED OTHER SUPPLIERS ON HERE AND THEY WILL SAY THE SAME.
NIGERIA , LAGOS BENIN ETC AVERAGE YEARLY WAGE IS $500.00!!!! GET THE PICTURE??? NO WONDER THE SCAMS ARE SO HUGE AS THEY ARE VERY POOR. THEY USE PUBLIC INTERNET CAFES TO DO THEIR SCAMS FROM. DO YOU THINK BUSINESSES IN THAT PART OF THE WORLD THAT ARE LEGITIMATE WOULD SPEND TIME ON ALIBABA ( A CHINESE BASED WEBSITE BY THE WAY)?? ALIBABA.COM GETS ONLY 6 % OF THE TRAFFIC THAT ALIBABA CHINA GETS. THINK OF THE SCAMS ON THAT SITE???

When dealing with Nigers:
Don't do it..., but if you want to go down that path then ...
Payment upfront, ship nothing until it clears and NEVER EVER send them money even if they overpay!

Don't buy or sell anything to these people. They can hardly afford a banana to feed their family. Don't believe the hardships these people endure either.
Check out www.419eater.com comical site all about SCAMMERS.

I'm fairly new to< Alibaba.rip_off>Our factory Classic Silver Ltd, produces Silver Jewelry and we're based in Thailand.
I don't know how these BARXXXXXXXs get our info but for the last two weeks I've been bombarded from Nigera,Togo and Benin wanting to 1)be our agent or 2)wanting to purchase unrealistic amounts eg:19,584 pcs of one design no questions asked and always they DEMAND not ask for a Pro-Forma Invoice. Thanks to much of what I've read on these Forums and 419, I told them to take a flying leap at amoving truck.
Did I do the right thing???
OH I almost forgot they use names like,
Michael Smith
Moxwell Mary
Luious Konkery
Ms Lucy

I am just as angry as everyone else when it comes to scammers, but to be honest GoombaJon, no disrespect to your self but a comment in this context is uncalled for and terribly disrespectful to all African people.
Im not even going to repeat it but what it should read is:

We have the exactly same experience with johnleo from Thailand. We are supplier of beverages in Indonesia. At first we do everything they ask include making them the proforma invoice. But it was really wasting my time. Thanks God I did nothing until I receive the full payment. And guess what, they had never transfered. So don't deal with them. Most of them are fraud. Don't waste your time.

Those guys are profesional scammer that at first targeting the white people but now everyone is their prey. They even have organisation behind it. If you ever google it and read the fact, you would be amaze.
No joking. Each day they send around 500 email out. They got software to do it of course. Out of 500, 7 would reply and 5 would get scam.

If you call them, they had service line to answer your call. There's machine to convert from word to voice output.
70% percentage of their goods are stolen or illegal. Even if they paid you, it would be stolen credit card money. And the bank will charge it back. I don't think i would waste my time doing business with them even if they are from South Africa. Unless i really knew that guy.
