    Dear Friend,

FOB Stand for Freight on Board.

In this term the price which you get, the freight is not included. It means you have to pay the freight addetional.

Insted for FOB prefer the term CIF or CNF.

    CIF- Cost Insurance and Freight.

    CNF- Cost and Freight.

In the payment CIF the price of the materil which you get its include cost of the material+Insurance and +Freight(Freight from loading port to discharge port).

And CNF only insurance is not included rest is same.

Hope friend you get much success  in your business, and any query feel free to contact me.

It should be "FREE On Board". In English, there is no meaning for "freight on board".

In the begining of this forum, you can find all the useful trade term written in "EVERY TRADE TERM FOB CIF LC etc" by Aussie.

    Good morning

Terms are important when you deal in trade imports.

Lokk on the net for Incoterms which comprises a lot of terms you must take into account when trading .

Start from ex works - it means the price you are quoted is at factory premises of the country you bought from. All other charges such as transport, insurance, import taxes etc are at your charge-

    FOB means freight on board

Which means the price you are quoted comprises the local transport cost to bring your goods until aboard the ship or plane.

All other costs such as insurance, unloading , your country importr taxes etc are at your charge

CIF means Cost,Insurance and Freight. It means the price you are quoted is for the goods to practically arrive at your country destination but once there all local unloading handling, inland transportation etc are at your charge.

However you will find a lot of explanation under the terms INCOTERMS.

    Ciao[em3]

FOB is an initialism for Free On Board or Freight On Board. Generally, FOB deals with the shipping of goods. It specifies which party (buyer or seller) pays for which shipment and loading costs, and/or where responsibility for the goods is transferred.

    Good afternoon:

FOB stands for Free On Board and means that the goods you have ordered are now on board the ship (or aircraft) free of all costs and liens and ready to be transported.

    Hope this helps.

FOB is an acronym for Freight On Board. That is the price it costs you or your business to load goods at port of origin. CIF Cost , Insurance and Freight indicates that price includes cost, insurance and freightto buyer's prefered port of destination.

Please find at the link below more than you'd probably ever care to know about FOB and any other Chamber of Commerce abbreviation, available in 31 languages and courtesy of the fine people who decide what all of these abbreviations mean:
