Dear Friend,

FOB Stand for Freight on Board.

In this term the price which you get, the freight is not included. It means you have to pay the freight addetional.

Insted for FOB prefer the term CIF or CNF.

CIF- Cost Insurance and Freight.

CNF- Cost and Freight.

In the payment CIF the price of the materil which you get its include cost of the material+Insurance and +Freight(Freight from loading port to discharge port).

And CNF only insurance is not included rest is same.

Hope friend you get much success  in your business, and any query feel free to contact me.

As you are new, you'd better have a forwarder by yourself, so that they can help you a lot on import. and you can consult these question from them.

By FOB, supplier deliver goods to the China Port, and you need to have a forwarder to arrange shipment to your country. you still need custom clearance and taxes.

By CIF, supplier deliver  goods to your port, and you should have some broker or forwarder to help you for custom clearance and taxes.

Considering you are new, so I am thinking that your quantity is not big at beginning, this would need you to ship by air, two ways: one by courier, another by air door to door, as for to use which way, that depends on the weight of goods, then you can choose the benefitial one.

Any questions, TM me,

 Dear Micheal

F.O.B.= free on board , delivery on ship in port of Hong Kong

C.I.F.=Cost , Insurance,Freight , it means delivery in destination + freight charge ( shipping of cargo by ship our railroad or plane) its a little bit expensive than FOB, for FOB you must pay Freight charges by yourself

Good Morning Michael

Hope I can help you on this.

When a supplier quotes you a price FOB, it means they will pay all the charges in China up to the goods been shipped - ie : Free on Board.  You will then be responsible for the freight from China and all the charges when it arrives UK.

When they quote C & F UK port, it means that they will pay all the charges up to arrival UK port.  You will be responsible for all charges in the UK.

In my opinion it is better for importers to by FOB.  This gives you more control over which companies your shipper sends goods with.  When sending C & F a lot of the agents in China give suppliers cheap rates on the freight - but then Importer has to pay high charges in the UK to compensate this.

Uniexpress can offer you help on all aspects of importing, whether you buy FOB or C & F.

If you need any advice on anything else just let me know and I will be happy to help.

Best regards Nikki Campbell

C & F: Price including Cost and Freight and the  will be higher than FOB.

FOB: You needed to find the forwarder by yourself, Price the supplier quoted you means cost only,

Michael
