In the early 70s OPEC held the spectre of limited oil over America's head.
Long lines, high prices and limited supply.
Even as recently as the end of Bill Clinton's term, high prices (for then) started to become an issue again. Ever since Bush took office, oil and gasoline supply has been an
issue.
So what have Americans done? Complain about the profits of the oil companies. Complain about the politicians not doing anything. Complain about what the President is or
isn't doing. Drilling. Refineries. Nuclear Power.
BS.
In the last 5-10 years what have YOU done to decrease your energy usage, better yet, your gasoline usage?
Is your current car bigger or smaller than your previous car? Does it get better gas mileage?
We are a nation of conspicuous consumption. Bigger car to impress the neighbors. Hey. You can't tell me what to do, I live in America. I can buy any type of pickup truck
to drive back and forth to my office that I want. I need a Ford Excursion, Hummer, etc. to protect my wife and kids.
Then we complain because the value of these land boats start going down. A news station in the Chicago area had a piece with people complaining how their Hummer, etc.
had dropped more than 20% in the last year. DUH!!
Then we have the unmitigated audacity to complain that those terrible **** nations are robbing us blind.
Suck it up America. No one did this to you. You did it to yourself.
Maybe if oil goes up to $10.00/gallon you'll figure out that the solution starts with YOU.
Quit complaining.
