In general,the format of PI and Commerical Invoice are same,only different title.including payment terms,unit prices and additional clauses you discussed with your clients.
If your clients ask you the PI, The order will be concluded.

They want your product invoice so that they can pay the money to you.
I'm not sure if the OP means she knows the term PI but after sent then no more feed back from customer. Or she doesn't know the meaning of this term.
Anyway, in general PI is refered to Proforma Invoice. But like DarkFox133 say, your customer may mean Price List (PL) but typed in PI. It would be better for you to clarify with your customer.
Proforma Invoice is part of Sales Contract (different from invoice). A metaphor when you need to issue PI.
Gap placed you an order for 50,000pcs of shirt for Banana Rep. You issue Sales Contract to Gap but you also need to issue Proforma Invoice to Banana Rep (they are the one who pay you, not Gap). I find many companies confuse the meaning of PI and SC. But I hope you are clear now.
