Oh actually I'm very experienced in such situation, when I just worked in my company for just one week, one of the customers asked for factory visit. I'm very nervous when I got the news, while I accepted her request at last.
Firstly I just tell her the truth that I'm on board newly in this area and beg for her forgive. Then I guide her from the airdrome to our factory and show her the famous and main place in our city on the way to factory. Also, I introduced the general situation and main products for our factory according to my understand. In factory, I show her the place and equipment she interested in. At last we have a good lunch together and say goodbye in the airdrome.
I like people coming & visiting our factory! Actually, I always try my best to invite them here once they are in China!
I think inquiry is just a small chance, i present a quote, but never give too much hope on it; Visiting is a great chance!
This is my own experience. I just graduated a few months ago; our factory just enter the worldwide market for a few months. This is my first job & I am the only one who in charge of froeign trade business here.
Guess how well we do? We got our first order in the second month, not a small one (of course not a really big one), about two containers I think (we just need to transport the products to that client's storehouse.) Yesterday, they came here for a second time and spent 10 mins to check the product & more time to have free talk with us. They gave this order to us last time (the first time) they came here ! Before that, we never talk at all except a reserve call.
Not every client will give us order though they come.
We will have another order middle this month once our sample (OEM product) pass (I believe it can!). That client visited us and we went to their office.
They would like to spend time for u = they want to do business with u! So be confident and show them your factory/company!
I was told that clients pay much attention to the workshop, is that true? Any body know that please let me know.
I am going to meet more clients next monday... I will do my best!

Never nervous, Just take them as normal visitors, talk about some interesting topic on the way to your factory , such as our customs, history , movie, even the spreading of Iphone,....in all, everything is OK, to know of a person need exchange minds in different domain , Man , do have more trys! Not each visitor will place you a PO, with PO, he is a normal visitor ,no need additional attentions! Do yourself !

I think it is very good if the customer wants to visit your company. That will show them how you work directly. just be friendly and honest. you can take them as your friend and always remember that they are human being. don't worry. be confident and friendly.

You should know as much as possible about your visitors before their coming. Show them you professionism and hospitality so as to make yourself impressed and stand in a good position when they're considering to place orders.
