Hi, I want to obtain a few sample of bearings from China. hey weigh very little, 5-6 ounces or 150 grammes, and I get many contacting me since my posting of 'goods required'.
In a specialist market is it always the way for these co's to ask for payment for samples? I mean, if it were an item of clothing, i can understand low lifes looking for freebies with no intention of buying. I am asked for sums of between 35 and 50USD for post using DHl etc. For a tiny packet.
Are these normal circumstances? An annoying problem is that to send around 100-300USD costs me 50USD in bank charges. I have sent nothing yet as I am trying to weed out those who do not know what they are talking about and thus MUST be frauds.
Thanks for any replies

It is normal for charging you the samples and express fee in China.
This is a tough one.
I would be inclined to think that the supplier could just send the samples freight paid and be done with it. Sure there is always a risk that there will be no order, but considering what the item is i.e. low cost, no resale value, it does not seem unreasonable for the supplier to cover the costs in order to have a chance for an order.
Have you laid out the fact that the bank fees would be more than the shipping fees?!!!

Do you buy a wide range of products? if so, do you have a agent in Shenzhen, you can transfer more money to the agent and ask your agent to release to all suppliers, this save you money save your work, and also can combine all what you said very small items to be one parcel, and save you a lot of freight.
If just sometime, you have to bear it. that's the only way you can do to pay high freight for a small items.
