I have had 1,000 rag dolls manufactured in China and hired a freight forwarder to do the shipping. Where I am hung up is getting the dolls inspected. Can anyone help me with this situation. As toy manufacturers are having such a hard time with toys made in China, I do not want to bring toys that may have something wrong with them to the U.S. I need to have this information as soon as possible. Please help. If you can give me any leads to an inspector. Also, I get the feeling something may be wrong or it wouldn't take almost a year to get the dolls.

China is a big country. I recommend that you state which city the factory is in as you would be best to find someone in that area.

Dear Paris,

Handan in China is famous for producing steels. Handan Steel is a stock listed company. But I have never heard doll making in Handan.

Can you give us the name of this factory, so we can check for you if it's a real factory or a scammer.

Cheers,

Sophie Zhou

The company has changed its name a couple of times; when I was first in touch with them, they were a linen manufacturer, and I forget the name. My partner was having someone he knew in China work with the manufacturer.  Now they are: Xingtong Toy Factory, No 53, Donghuan Road, Handan City, Hebei Province, China, Postcode 056000. Before that  the name was: Qihong Toy Manufacturer, Northbound 200 meters, Crossing of the Doughuan Rd and Heping Road, Handan City, Hebei Province, China. I have already paid the manufacturers, and all of this started about December last  year. I appreciate any help you can give.

Dear Paris,

The products you are dealling with is very sensitive, you know why.and a big inspection company may not willing to take this offer.

If you are going to find some one private to do this inspection, please make sure ,He will take five pcs from the the 1000 then send to the third party lab in Shanghai or Hongkong, and check the material .

And products sales in US must have certification,I hope this company have  their products certificated.

Regards,

Synge

Dear Synge,

Thank you for your information. I am in start-up and do not want to begin my business offering less than quality products, or doing something shady (illegal) in dealing with U.S. or China Customs. I appreciate all the information I can get. Thank you again. Paris Tompkins

Dear Paris,

Do you have the website or telephone contacts of your Chinese supplier? Or, do you have any purchase contract or sales contract signed by them? It is IMPOSSIBLE to take almost one year time to make 1000pcs little dolls.

I have researched the name you gave us, Xingtong Toys Co.,Ltd is a company in Yiwu, not in Handan. ( www.xingtongtoys.com)  No.53 Donghuan Road, Handan is the address of a school named "Nanhu Vacational School".  Qihong Toy Co.,Ltd(Tongxin Toy Co.),Ltd is a scammer.  They are selling high-end cosmetics on their website now.

If you have a partner in China, you should have known it at very first time by doing a little research.

Sorry to tell you that, but it's a lesson for first time overseas outsourcing grandma.
