I have seen these advices many times: "find a local agent", "the agent is your representive", "find an agent when you dont trust the company you are dealing with"......etc.

well how can i find an agent to inspect the goods and make sure they are delivered and why should i trust him??? [em4][em9]

Award 10 MVPs ( What's this? )for the best answer.

If you are looking for somebody to inspect the merchandise before shipment, the company SGS can do that for you. But if we are talking about shipments from China, there are quite a few "helpers" here in the forums who can do that, too, and much cheaper. Ask for references.

You should not blindly trust them but the fact that they are working for you and that you are paying their fees is reason enough to assume that they will not intentionally cheat you.

I think the question that you should be asking is how can you trust that they will do a good job. The answer is to choose an assistant that has a proven experience with the products that you are buying.

For example I cant really see much value in an assistant who has no experience with electrical products trying to help you check the quality of LCD TV's.

There are couple of lists of assistants on the Due Dilligence forum. Contatc them and ask them pertinent questions and perhaps some references from past customers.

Dear hat343,

If you are going to make longterm buissnes i suggest you to old school way.

Go to China or X country that you are making the buissnes, make inspection for the first time and make inspection over your buissnes partners, not only to products.

Depends a lot on what sort of products you are talking about........

For 3 really good trsutworthy China Helpers, go to the Member Spotlight forum and contact the 3 people listed at the top as "CHINA AGENT"... All 3 of these great people are trustworthy and great "locals"........ They are in different parts of the country and one of them will probably suit your needs.

If you are talking $100K and over for the deals you want to make and are talking about "hi-tech" types products you might be better off using SGS or similar (more expensive but 100% safe)

We can say it in another way:  you can hire one to be representive for you in China, if goods are good when you got, then you can give a bonus commision to him, so you not need to worry whether he is trusted.
