Hi,

I am new importer in Canada, the exporter in China quoted me DHL Express $7.6/kg to Canada - Order is 176kg

OR  $236.00/via Ship to Port of Toronto as they put it.

Obviously we don't have a port, do they mean ship to Vancouver then truck to Toronto?  They weren't clear.

Thanks.

Yes, that would mean shipment from China to Toronto via Vancouver (by sea).

The inland transportation from Vancouver to Toronto would be by truck or rail.
If the shipment is made by air, it does not necessarily have to transit Vancouver - that depends on the flight route.

For 1 CBM the LCL to Torondo, the price looks reasonable. But just want to mension, if shipping via Couriers, UPS will be your first choice with cheapest rates and reliable services to Canada. Second choice is Fedex, then DHL. and the prices you are showing for 7.6 USD/kilo for DHL is reasonable.  But for UPS could be dropped down to less than 6.5 USD.

As one other person already stated, it would be Port of Vancouver, and railed to Toronto, but it would land in either Vaughn or Concord (depending on the rail line used, either CP or CN).  Then it is up to you to make sure the container is picked up within the free storage period and returned to the container yard. Otherwise the demurge costs will being to pile up.

Since you are new to importing in Canada, go ahead and send me a msg should you have any questions.  I work for a third party logistics provider located in Hamilton, Ontario (45 min from Toronto) and  I have plenty of customers in the same boat.  (I'm not trying to sell to you, simply offering my advice)

    Anyways, good luck with this!

Yeah, since no port in Toronto. The supplier hopes you can take charge of the inland freight, by truck or by rail.
