Wellness: New Market

A new market category called wellness life style is developing. This broad new category consolidates a lot of sub-categories including spas, traditional medicines, alternative medicines, behavioural therapy, spirituality, fitness, nutrition and beauty.
Insurers such as WellPoint and Britains PruHealth are rewarding people who take part in health improvement programmes with lower premiums or bigger deductibles. Wal-Mart is selling organic food and even Coca coal is launching a wellness drink.
One difficulty for wellness firms will be acquiring the expertise to operate in several different areas of the market. Another difficulty relates to maintaining credibility as an industry that combines science with beliefs.

Replying to [adseaco]:Well I consider Wellness with whole body (not only mind) Spas & Beauty clinics are all concerned with overall improvement of human. But it is a perceptual difference. you consider it associated with mind. i think sprituality, yoga etc.

Just to add. Wellness can be related to fashion as well. You must have heard about the new soles being developed by leading shoe manufacturers which can breath. Well, if you consider shoes as part of fashion then it has the combined effect of Wellness+Fashion. When you wear a comfortable pair of shoe without the fear of sweating and having smelly feet, of course your mental state would be calm and attain wellness...
