The arguement about cheap food is wrong and fraud.
If evil merchant want to gain from ill gotten poison food, by adding chemicals.
they need not sell it cheap.
Japan just sold poisonous japanese rice to taiwan and the lot is made into many different type of rice cake, rice food.
Of course, lets dont forget the mad cow disease beef... I dont think that is cheap...
since it is sold as import beef, before the scare is alert in the market.
The worst type of poison case is one that is uncontrolled. and unannounced.
Strict check should be in place at all levels for human consumption items.
This news really makes everybody astonished in China. All of us have been taught to make nutritious food in our life, and milk lists in this healthy menu, so people have been developing the habit of drinking milk everyday. But this accident doubts people's belief, even most people are afraid of drinking milk and denial them. To be honest, this isn't the first time that discovered food's safety, people suffered many expriments in common food which they thought safe before in recent years. There is no people assure one food that isn't contaminated nowdays, and we are in the circumstance which all of us pursue nutritiion and health, but none can get it.

Look at the big picture....Any producer/manufacturer selling cheap stuff has to be reconsidered. You can get very low price for a product, but is the quality of the product is assured. If toxic chemicals are mixed in milk which are given to infants....just imagine the quality of the other products manufactured. This is not the first time.....
As the saying goes..."cheap things no good....good thing no cheap"
Let this be an eye opener for everybody who look for cheap things..........

BBC news: Inspectors found that 10% of liquid milk taken from three dairies was tainted with melamine.
The scandal first came to light in milk powder that killed four infants and sickened more than 6,000 others.
Suppliers are believed to have added melamine, a banned chemical normally used in plastics, to diluted milk to make it appear higher in protein.
for the developing of ecnomic and the chemical things be invented, the more and more food are chemicalized, loss its nature character.we will be more and more carfull in choosing what to eat.hope the children who were involved in the SAN LU milk problem can be turn healthy.

They should import grains and cereals from CIS countries. Ukranian farmers are so poor. They do not have money to buy pesticides. Grain from Ukraine and Russia is the cleanest in the world.
