Negotiating terms with supplier for Electrical appliances or electronics
Post 1 of 1

Good day everybody!

I viewed some questions forum here concerning about terms with supplier for electrical appliances or electornics items.  working out from my experience of negotiating with suppliers, here give my experience as bellow, hope it would be a help to you in your business:

We all know those very big group or big brand like those sony, hp, or sumsung etc. this is a aftersale service of products solution, and they have office and agent everywhere, so buyer not need to worry about defective products. But made in China, it would be different from them:
Defective products return is not accepted by supplier: who knows what happened when the goods out of factory, such like during transport, products destroyed during transport may happened, if you required the vender to offer free products for replacement, that means they will not be  in resposobility for  any defective products, but you can have a full inspection before shipment. If you do not require free products for replacement, there is another solution, that is buyer pay for shipping to supplier, after their repairment, supplier pay for shipping to buyer.  As you know, factories are gettting less and less benefit, and they are not a very big company, and they do not have the ability to this kind of aftersale service. what you can do is to have a international inspection standard or same testing to the products before shipment.
if you said you want for replacement when you found defective products, but vender don't know whether it is true, because they  do not see it, so they will required you to return them.  As for shipping cost for defective products found, you should write the term concerning this to the contract, such like: buyer in charge of freight to vender and then vender in charge of freight to buyer, and then, vendor would calculating this aftersale cost into the unit price, this is another solution on price too.

Suggested idea is: buyer create a repairing center in their market, and doing the repairment by yourself, and can get the parts from the supplier, and supplier is willing to give you the free parts.
