I was talking with many foreigner guys. Most of them were Arabians... Anyways. They told me, that Chinese guy will never marry white girl. He can only have white girlfriend. But that's all. That he will choose only Chinese wife.

I spoke about it with a few Chinese guys... I didn't ask it directly, would they like to mary foreigner. But it was easy to understand, that they will choose Chinese...

I would really like to hear opinions of Chinese guys here. What

would they choose?

It seems to me that chinese guys are too silent nowadays.

It really depends. But as far as I know, one of my frineds married a American girl when he was studying in the U.S.

well it really depends. if the guy lives in an english  speaking country for a long time, and in fact born in there, they may choose a white girl


otherwise I don't think so...

For Chinese guys to marry the Western woman, by this I mean the Caucasian breed, the women are bigger phsically and more extrovert and open in their manners, in attitude and behaviour. It will be difficult to the male chauvinism and Head of the House to accept this kind of communion.


There are lots of cultural barriers which have to be broken, and some of them are too deeply ingrained, with the inheritence from the past generation. For example, the respects for the elderly parents or grandparents which is not as prevailing in Western cultures. Chinese culture is built on the history of the influence by Confucius teachings, that filial piety holds the highest virtue. This in in contrary to the Western beliefs that a man should leave his father and mother and be joined to his mate. These differences often surface in between the couple, and it takes a whole new mindset to be able to go through these conflicting cultural norms.


It is impossible to change attitudes and easier to engineer behaviour. To make things worst are the extended families and neighbours who without concious thought make matters worse for the couple. Besides there is also language barriers, although one can learn the language, but one cannot learn the culture behind the language.
