Post 1 of 6

Hi All,

This is my first post and I wish it was to say that I have made my first million on alibaba, but uunfortunately it is to let you know about a T-Shirt scam mail which I have received and thoroughly checked out on Google and elsewhere on the internet. Be aware of it and just delete it if you get one. This person has several scams going from the country of Benin in West Africa. The first letter I received from this person just said that they were seriously looking for a good business relation and the spelling was terrible which made me suspicious right away, but I wrote back to see what was up. The main letter is below and as you can see, the spelling is pretty good and grammar ok, etc. Remember to never give out your information until you have verified the company contacting you actually exist!! I deleted their email address and phone number per posting rules. The phone number however, is a mobile phone in Benin. Safe Trading Everyone!!

You are most welcome. I came to alibaba to do good business and learn about the business I chose to do. I don't have time for crap from scammers, so I wanted people to know about this. It's important that we all help to make alibaba a safe and prosperous venue in which to conduct our various businesses.

Hi Louis

Since the scammer's letter below so professionally written, how you realized it was a scam? I am infact receiving an order enquiry on the our products also and they would also TT 100% in advance. I am wandering how to divulge their pitfall.

Appreciate your further info.

Thanks

Very Happy to inform you. First of all I went to scambusters.com and did some research there concerning the Republic of Benin. Afterwards I sent an email back to the enquirer and asked them for their company registration license number and what Benin Government Office was it registered with because I told them after trying to find their company for several hours on the internet, I could find no such company. I also told them I would need a 50% deposit up front in order to have the manufacturer start production of their T-Shirts and to have the necessary documents made up. Another thing I have done since I have been on alibaba, is to read all of the safe trading posts and report suspicious company posts. There is alot of information on alibaba. All you have to do is read. Well, I have never heard back from them after I sent them my last email.

Hope this helps out
